Derrick POV
It's been a while since I last heard about my parents disappearance. I am beyond heartbroken and even though Daniel and I were the beneficiaries. Money doesn't buy happiness. Well at least for me it doesn't. Daniel's has been absolutely careless about this whole thing! His criminal record was also miraculously wiped. I've suspected him for the longest. I can't trust him anymore and I know he had something to do with it. And I'm going to prove it.

EMERALD POV
"Well today's the day" I thought to myself. Then my mother walks in and reiterates my thoughts.
"How are you feeling Ems?" She asked sorrily while running her finger through my hair before pushing the left side before my ear.
"Today is prom night and I have so many mixed emotions" I started. " and Most of them are with dealing with Derrick and his whole situation. I told him that he didn't have to go, that I would understand. But he insisted. Even at his darkest hour he is still the most wonderful, caring guy I've ever been with" I finished trying to choke back the tears.
"Hey now," my mother added, "you have to be strong for the both of you. He is going through a lot and tonight is probably his last night to be a teenager. So please enjoy it." She said as she kissed my forehead.
She's right. Derrick told me that he was thinking about taking a leave from school to find out what happened to his parents. He wants to go to London to personally get the truth about his parents their disappearance.
Like I'm trying to get him to stick around for graduation next month but he keeps saying "he has to do this." I know most people are wondering how? How was he going to be able to up and leave school and still be able to graduate? Then I remember he did all of his major senior requirements during his junior year. Because he wanted to use his senior year to study aboard. All that changed when he met me though. So I guess this takes the place as his "senior" trip. But let's not forget that he is rich and could easily sway anybody with a 100Gs.
Time flies by and I start getting ready. I rarely straighten my hair, but when I do it almost touches my butt. I prefer my hair in it's natural state, but I figured I would straighten it for tonight. So my mom takes all the precautions. Those would include deep conditioning my hair before going onto my normal hair washing regime before straightening, heat protectant, essential oils, and the she applied a hair serum by Dark N lovely that combats against humidity and sweat.
Then I move onto my make-up. I start off with my neutral palette before going into my dark smokey eye. I wanted my makeup to look like a battle between good and evil. And I had did just that.
Once my makeup is done, I slipped into my undergarments and slide into my spanx. I LOVE the smooth finish it give my body.
Now it's time for my favorite part, THE DRESS. I pulled out my hand-tailored dress. It is one of my greatest achievements, and it slides right on me like butter. I do a few twirls and i just look and gazed at myself through the mirror.
This night is going to be PERFECT I swear nothing could ruin it.
*cells rings*
"Hello?"

Derrick POV
"Well this is it" I thought to myself " tonight is the night, that I ask Emerald to elope with me." I open the 4 karat diamond ring, and I just start practicing how I'm going to ask her to myself. "Emerald" I say quietly. "Nah that's too soft, EMERALD" I say hasty. "Damn do I want her to marry me or break up with me?" I chuckle.
Damn this is going to be harder than I thought. As I pacing around I see something flashing at me. I turn around to locate it. This is weird what could this be. I start reading it, I can't believe what I'm seeing. This is too unreal, I have to get to Emerald to her tell that. . .

Emerald's POV
"Hello?" I answer
"HEY BITCHHHHH WE OUTSIDE COME OPEN THE DOOR!" Marble screams. I just with excited and quickly run downstairs. Once I get downstairs I see that the girls have already been let in, and there are surrounded by cops.
Aw hell. What the, I think to myself. But before I can say anything or scold anybody about getting into with the law before prom a fair skinned cop steps up.
"Excuse me, Miss are you Emerald Davis ?" The cop asks with worry in his eyes.
I look around at everyone else before I answer, "Yes? What is going on?"
He looks down before looking at me and says "I'm sorry ma'am but

I look at the ring in his hand, I picked it up, then when I open it and I read it out loud, to the best of my abilities. "I loved you the first day I laid my eyes on you. I love you Plum-Face.. . I start sobbing uncontrollably Will you sniffs marry me?
I start sobbing uncontrollably everybody consoling me. And I just couldn't handle it. I ran up to my room slammed the door and broke everything in sight. I slam the door and the mirror spins around. It's just me and my dress.
I tried to take it off, but the zipper was stuck, at that moment I couldn't take it anymore. I ripped the piece of shit off me and just started to cry.
In the mist of crying, I started to have a panic attack. That's when my mom ran in with my sister's inhaler and gave me two pumps.
"It okay baby" She consoled me. "We're going to be here to get you through this." I felt her tear drops dripping on my forehead, as we cried together.
THE NEXT DAY
After last night I just wanted to be left alone. At least I thought it was last night. It turns out I had not moved for 48 hours.
*Knock*
"Come in" I said weakly facing the window
"Hey Ems, It's just me today. The girls didn't want to overwhelm you, they send their love" Marble said walking in. "How are you holding up?"
"As good as I can be" I responded still facing towards the window.
"You know that you are not i this alone right? Me and everybody else are going to be there for you throw it all."
A moment of silent goes by. The I turned to her, with a puffy face and a heavy heart, and respond "Are you going to help me with this baby too?"
