When The Next Step cast are invited as Brittany's guests to the Transitions premiere, Trevor realises some feelings which may have been hanging around for a long time...
Brittany's POV
I stepped out of the huge black limo and steadied my foot before excepting the hand that was held out to me. My driver helped me up onto the sidewalk and closed the door behind me."Thank you," I said to him as he let my hand go and smiled at me, before climbing back into his car and driving away. There was screaming around me as I met with one of our event coordinators who wore a headset and held a clipboard.
"Hey Brittany. Looking great. All right," she said, "as soon as Kira is off of the photo spot you head in."
"Great thank you," I said back.
I smiled at the crowd and waved to the children who were standing and screaming and waving back at me.
Tonight was the premiere of Transitions, the short film which I had starred in at the end of last year. The storyline was centred around a teenager called Savannah who was struggling to cope with gender dysphoria. Playing her was definitely something different for me. The role required a lot of crying, something which I believed I had gotten good at on The Next Step - but that was the only thing I was no stranger to. Every other trait and dynamic I used as I played Savannah was completely different to what I used playing Riley. But I was excited to see the movie. I felt like acting on children's tv labelled you to be a 'children's actor' or someone who could pass for being an average actor. And I wasn't down for that. Taking on this role was my chance to prove my diversity, as I saw it. And I was also stoked for everyone else to see the whole movie.
Pretty soon, Kira stepped off of the photo spot, meaning that I could go into it. Before she moved onto interviews, we shared a quick hug and a bunch of cameras flashed as we broke apart and smiled excitedly at each other. I then turned my attention to all of the cameras being pointed at me, placing a hand on my hip and crossing one foot over the other. I smiled as flashing began to make me dizzy.
"This way Brittany," they all seemed to call at once. I tried my best to look at all of them, so that they could all get at least one picture. Somewhere in my time on the photo spot, another limo had pulled up and Adam had stepped onto the red carpet, wearing a black blazer and dress pants with a white shirt and a black tie.
He smiled at me as he walked over to take my spot in front of the cameras.
"Hey," I said as I wrapped him in a hug and felt his arms go around my waist.
"Hi," he said over the noise.
"How are you?" I asked as we pulled away.
"I'm good," he said giving me a quick look up and down, "you look amazing."
"Thank you," I said sweetly back at him, "I'll see you in a bit."
I walked off of the photo spot and headed down to mingle with fans for a bit, taking pictures and signing autographs in every direction. However no matter what I was doing, I was constantly glancing over my shoulder to see if they had arrived yet.
Trevor's POV
I sat watching the streets roll past the car window from the back seat, drumming my hands on my legs. I had been lucky enough to get an outside seat, meaning that I was not squashed in the middle. I couldn't say the same for Lamar.Next to him was Isaac and facing us sat Victoria, Jordan and Jennie. The girls were all in dresses and heels and the guys had made efforts to dress up a little.
We all sat talking excitedly as we neared closer and closer to the venue.
Tonight we had all been invited to the premiere of Transitions, which was a new short film that Brittany was starring in. The trailer looked really good and we had all heard how excited Brittany was about it. She had not hesitated to invite all of us to the premiere and since it was assumed that fans would show up outside for Britt, we had also been invited to walk the red carpet and do interviews with reporters - as well as meet with the fans. Brittany was of course getting to the premiere in her own limo and had been scheduled to arrive a little before us from what she had texted, so by now she would already be strutting the red carpet.
