Months past, I had already recovered from the injury. Shay and Liam have gone to the North Atlantic for a mission. In this period, I trained under the guidance of Hope and Kesegowaase. They are excellent teachers but strict. It is just like what Shay had told me before, it isn't easy. Although it's tough, I still try my best to keep on.

Hope also told me that I'm ready to do missions. I'm really happy to hear that. My hard work finally paid off, but Achilles still haven't told me anything. Maybe he thinks I'm not skillful enough. He has his concerns, I'm just a freshman in the Brotherhood.

There is no training for me this morning. I climbed on the rooftop of the homestead, it's one of the favorite things I like to do. You could see the whole panorama up there. Everything turns little when looking down, it's just a small world after all.

I sat there, leaving my mind blank, watching the vessels go here and there.

I don't know how much time I have been up there, but a voice I've never heard before drew my mind back.

Down below, a man I've never seen before is talking with Achilles. His is darker, and perhaps wiser than Achilles. You could still feel the solid muceles under his robes though he is much older than Achilles.

He must be an important guest, I thought. Curiosity drove me to eavesdrop their conversation. I climbed down and hid in a bush silently.

"It was terrible, Achilles." The man said, "The ground shook, and the ocean waves crashed over Port-au-Prince..." An earthquake? I suppose.

"How many were lost?"

As I try to to learn more about the tragedy, someone tripped over me. I turned and pinned the person down, covering its mouth.

"Shay?!" I didn't expect him. I was too surprised that I ended up squeaking. But he then quickly did the same thing.

"What in the world are you doing here? Weren't you in the North Atlantic?" I wispered surprisingly after taking his hand off.

"That's what I was going to ask you!" Shay rolled his eyes.

"It's better if we leave here. I'll give you the explanation later." I started to crawl out slowly.

We went further. "Now, tell me what were you doing in the bush." He questioned.

"I was trying to get more information about the conversation between Achilles and the visitor. But then you disturbed me!"

"How would I know you were there! It was an accident!" He tried to explain himself.

"Never mind..." I waved my hand and started to walk away like this had never happened.

"Alessandra!" Shay then stopped me, "You were eavesdropping Achilles, weren't you? Do you think you could get away such easily?"

"Geez... What do you want?" I swung my hands and answered impatiently. He discovered it anyway.

"Come." He wants me to follow him. As we move forward, I discovered that we were heading to the training area.

"What are you doing?!" I questioned him again.

Shay didn't say anything. I have a bad feeling.

~~~
"You are late!" Hope said with her hands crossed in front of her chest.
"Hope! What did I miss?"
"Only the first hour of training." Replied Kesegowaase.
Shay ignored him and picked up the kettle set on the campfire. He poured some tea in the cup. "Look who I've brought here. Alessandra volunteered to train more."
Great. My day off just got ruined by Shay.
"Well done." Hope clapped her hands and smiled at me."On the other hand," She walked past Shay, "Look at yourself, a pity! The boy has so much potential... But so little discipline."
I smirked and gave him a look. Shay's face turned red. He walked away speechless with Liam.
"Come with me, Alessandra." Kesegowaase called me, "you should learn more about Mother Nature." I followed him. We walked deeper into the woods, where there is no human disturbance. Leaping forward tree by tree to stay away from unwanted troubles.
Trees are our friends, I remembered the first lesson he gave me. They provide us places to view like a bird. I enjoy his lessons, his philosophy commands respect.
Kesegowaase's voice interrupted my thought.
"That would be our prey." He stopped at a branch nearby and pointed. There is an elk resting under the tree, not knowing the comming danger.
I silently moved to the branch above. Without making any noise, I took a deep breath and leaped down with the hidden blade unleashed. The beast let out a painful groan and fell.
Always be thankful of Mother Nature. I prayed and started to remove the skin. Use well what She gives us.
Kesegowaase climbed down. "Take the skin to the crafter. Achilles has something to show you after that. Your training today ends here."
After stopping by at the crafter, I met Shay while heading to Achilles.
Unlike usual, he looks a bit serious.
"You have to meet Achilles, don't you?"
"Aye." He said nothing more and quicken his pace. I have to run to catch him up. I can see Achilles standing in front of the homestead, glaring at the sea.
"Shay!" Achilles called him when he noticed us comming. He handed him two flintlocks, "I head that you have become quite a marksman... And for you, Alessandra," he handed me a pair of daggers.
My chin fell and my mind went totally blank. My face must look ridiculous right now.
Achilles smiled, "Your amazing improvement deserves this."
"A generous gift. Thank you, mentor." Neither Shay could hide his gladness.
"Thank you... mentor..." I finally squeezed out some words.
Suddenly the man we saw earlier approached us to give his farewell. He also informed us about the lost artifact and the precursor box.
I remained puzzled after he left. "If I may ask, who is he? And what are the things he mentioned?"
"His name is Adéwalé. The mentor of the Caribbean branch." Achilles said, "The artifact and the box is extremely important for us. We must recover them or else non are safe." He emphasized.
"Shay, you shall start to track the artifact and the box. Take Alessandra with you, you will need her help."
Shay and I looked at each other as he walked away.
"Why are you standing still?" Shay pat me on the shoulder, "Meet Liam at the harbor, and we shall sail."
