Wake up! You couldn't give up such easily!

No... I feel tired.

If you don't get up, you'll be trapped in this place forever.

I don't care. I'm tired if this.

So you want to give everything? What about your family? Your friends? Shay?

No!

A flow ran over my whole body. My eyelids flicked open and I sat up. I inhaled hardly, feeling my lungs extend to maximum. I will never give up.

I turned my eyes around and found myself in a cabin on the Morrigan. My left shoulder was bandaged well though it still hurts a little.

Then someone pressed me back in the cushions. It was Shay. He sat beside and looked at me with thousands of apologies in his eyes.

"How do you feel now?" He asked worrying.

"Better than before, still a bit tired." I rubbed my eyes and stretched. At a certain point, I had to put my arm down. The gunshot still hurts. I let out a sigh. It must take some time to recover, and I won't be able to fight for a while.

He sat back in his chair and lowered his head, "Please forgive me, I let them harmed you."

"Stop blaming yourself. It's no big deal." I answered.

Shay still kept his head down and covered his face with his hands. He can see my disappointment. "I can't! I promised you and Liam that you wouldn't get hurt," He said, "Now Liam is mad at me... I-I should have listened him..." He buried his face deeper in his hands, beating himself up.

"Look at me, Shay." I lift his head up and continued, "It's not your fault. It was me who insists to do all of this. You even saved my life! How could I blame you!" To be honest, I did a mess when assassinating Samuel Smith. I put myself and Shay in danger because of my carelessness. My reckless move could have bought shame to the Brotherhood by failing to retrieve the precursor box.

Shay looked back at me. I could still see the sorrow in his deep brown eyes. He still feels responsible for my injury. Holding my hands tight, he placed his lips near mine. Was that a kiss?

"Do you even know why I've been so harsh on myself of not protecting you well? Because I'm afraid of loosing you, and that nearly happened. I care about you, Alessandra."

I feel my cheeks burning, blushing red. I was shocked. I wasn't expecting that. My heart beated quicker and quicker, urging me to return him the same way.

"Shay... maybe this is not the time to do it..." I look refused and pushed him slightly away. I looked down, feeling embarrassed.

Shay took a few steps back, regretting what he had just done, "I'm... really... sorry..." He squeezed out a few words and paced out. I didn't mean to hurt him, but it was just a sudden that I had no idea how to react.

I tossed myself in the cushions and covered my face. How am I going to face Shay again? I turned him down and made him feel embarrassed. I just can't do things right.

That night, the mysterious woman came to me again. She didn't appear in my thoughts, but she showed herself near me. She sat beside and called my name, with the merry giggle as usual.

"What do you want again?" I questioned her impatiently.

"You did a great job, my dear," she touched my face softly, "this is how an assassin should be."

"You mean put oneself in danger without caring about others?"

She ignored me and continued, "The day when the assassins retrieve the Piece of Eden should be near. I had brought the chosen one." She concluded, satisfied about her work.

"Who the hell are you?" I was terrified after hearing what she had just said. I am the chosen one? Seems like all of this isn't as simple as I thought before.

She smiled and stood up, "You'll recognize me in another way," her lights started fade away, a familiar figure stood in front of me.

I can't believe what I saw.

"Tell me it isn't true..." I said trembling, "Jacey."

She let out a smirk, "I have been watching since you were young. You are the one who can save the Brotherhood. This is why I became your best friend." She spoke, but the voice was still hers.

I shivered. The truth is shocking. Who in the world could I believe now?

"I earned your trust and everything, so I could take you here." She continued, "You should know the importance. The Brotherhood needs you."

"I know nothing!" I yelled desperately, "why should I save an organization that doesn't exist!"

"Doesn't exist?" Her face became furious and started to approach me closer, "You shall know, the feud between templars and assassins will never end in this parallel universe." She roared, "How foolish that you people said it is only a video game!"

I stared at her, speechless. No word could describe my feelings. The only thing I told her was to go away.

"As you wish," she huffed, "I'll come and visit you again some day." She walked away and vanished in a blink.

I remained in bed and tried to fall asleep, thinking that it would chase my worries away. But it didn't work. Her words repeated again and again in my mind for the whole night.

I won't hate myself. I hate my destiny.
