As soon as Lycidas could breath again and Theresa had let him go, he jolted up past her without a word, swimming towards the tail of the shark which was still shaking violently, trying to set itself free. He knew what to do and he had to do it fast. He grabbed the spear Andrew had left behind and swam with great speed towards the spot where he guessed suspected the shark's heart would be and he plunged the spear into it, driving it down hard almost to the hilt that the shark roared so loud and the noise vibrated the water and more rocks came tumbling down, releasing the shark a bit.
Aline stared in despair as she watched the shark sink an inch into the sea, almost slipping from the hold of the crumbling rocks. "We can't afford to have more creatures like this in the sea by letting it birth those babies, there will be an endless massacre!" She exclaimed exclaimed in shock.
"All is not lost yet, Aline! We have to join Moon's Call and end it now!" Herrick said. "Those rocks might let it go, any moment from now."
They all attacked the shark with their tridents and spears and more blood gushed into the sea from the resilient animal who just kept roaring and gnashing its jaws in pain. Astrophel leapt out of the sea, somersaulted above the head of the shark and as he fell down back at the other side, he plunged his spear into the Shark's eye and blood splattered on him and as he hit the water again, the sea rinsed the blood off his body immediately. Lycidas turned to look at Aline after he drove another spear into the shark's chest and he asked. "Have you any pets?"
Aline nodded. "We all have individual pets."
"Ravenous?"
Aline shook her head. "My pets are filter whales... My sister, Kayla keeps sharks."
"Where are they?" Lycidas asked. "If they can smell all these blood from hundred of yards away, they should be here by now."
"They are caged up for now, we could not afford losing our pets to this thing!" She pointed at the mega shark, it's almost six times their size and twice my whales."
"Release them!" Lycidas said aloud and avoided the falling rocks. "We don't have much time, we can't kill this thing on our own!"
Aline nodded quickly and swam around the rock to a red head then spoke to her in mermaid language. Kayla nodded and immediately closed her eyes, placing her fingers to the side of her head. She remained this way for a short while and suddenly opened her eyes.
Immediately, they all felt something rushing towards them and Kayla turned to the others and gestured with her hands, yelling at them. "Stay away from the mega shark now!"
The mermaids and the lycans all swam back except Lycidas who stayed put, as whatever was rushing towards them came into view and the Lycans' eyes widened in shock as several species of adult sharks began to rush towards the creature's massive body. One came with its jaws open, tore a chunk of flesh from the creature and darted past Lycidas as it grind it in its jaws and swallowed. The others followed suit, attacking the creatures from different angles and tearing its flesh off to feed on it nearby, and return immediately to tear off another large chunk. "My babies..." Kayla cooed, crossing her arms over her chest dreamily as she watched her pets tear the creature to shreds.
Lycidas watched as a tiger shark swam with speed towards him and he fisted his hand and set himself ready. As the shark came towards him, jaws open, he dodged the massive bite intended for him, swam to its side and connect his fist to the side of the shark's head which shook and thrashed crazily from the impact of the blow and quickly swam back towards Kayla who ran her webbed fingers over the sharks hurting head and glared at Lycidas. "Do you want to kill it?!" She berated.
"It came for me." Lycidas simply replied.
"I told you to swim away from the creature!" She yelled at him. "It only mistook you for a floating chunk of the creature!"
