Berwald Oxenstirena's POV

We had been searching for Mathias for what had seemed like eternity. Although I did have a small grudge against him, everyone else was concerned for his safety, so I decided to go along.

For a few minutes, we were locked in the science room. All of us were panicked, but with all of our strengths combined, the door was broken into bits. It was the first time things actually went well for us.

Tino had insisted on finding Mathias, and I knew that I couldn't argue with him. To be honest, I would jump off a cliff just for Tino. He meant the whole world to me. He was my whole world and pride.

As we walked, I reached into my pocket out of boredom with my good arm. I felt a small box in my pocket and I remembered. I was going to propose to Tino before we graduated. That was going to be my gift to him.

I believed that it wouldn't be a bad idea to ask for Tino's hand in marriage here. I knew what I was going to do then. At least it would help to get him back to being happy.

Tino took my hand and gave it a squeeze. I looked at him like I was confused.

"S-sorry. I'm just a bit scared. You know, for what happened to Mathias..." Tino whispered.

"Hm." I nodded and held his hand. Tino gave me a weak smile and kept walking.

I thought about how I would ask Tino to marry me. What would he say? Would he reject me? When would be a good time?

Things were calm so far. We hadn't seen anything too bad. Tino was quiet, just like Alfred. I wondered if I should take my chance.

Finally, I decided I would ask Tino. I stopped, causing the other two to do so as well.

"T'no?" I asked.

"Y-yeah?" He stuttered.

"C'n I 'sk y' sumfin?" I asked. Tino nodded with a worried expression. Alfred quietly watched.

I took the small box out of my pocket, and kneeled on one knee. I moved my broken arm to help me open the box. The pain was not going to last forever, as I believed.

"W'll y' m'rry m'?"

Tino's eyes watered. He nodded quickly and hugged me. I hugged him back, and carefully placed the silver band on his finger.

"Yes Berwald! Yes!" He sobbed as he buried his face in the crook of my neck. I was happy. At least we were going to be together.

Still, there was no sign of Mathias. It even seemed as if he was never with us in the first place.

"So.... Alfred.... Where do you think Mathias could be?" Asked Tino.

"No clue." Alfred replied sadly.

Just then, at that exact moment, a sharp pain grew in my arm. In response, I gave a loud, painful yelp and fell to the floor.

"Berwald!" Tino immediately crouched down next to me to see what was wrong. "Are you alright? Don't push yourself like that!"

"'M f'ne," I painfully grunted my answer.

"No you're not!" Tino said with a worried tone. "I have an idea, Alfred, stay with Berwald! I'll be right back, okay?"

"No! Yer n't goin'!" I demanded at Tino.
