The Road to El Dorado Miguel x Reader

Part Four

This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. Especially when the this whole volcano scene in the video above.

As the boat sailed on, we were amazed by everything that surrounded us, from the animals above and under us to the gold literally everywhere. Besides the plants of course. As we were passing by, a lot o people were around and they were all staring at us. 'We must be the first outsiders to come here.' After we stopped we all got off the boat, Miguel and Tulio rode Altivo, and we walked up to the build but stopped in the middle surrounded by loads of people. "Well, It was nice working with two." Tulio said to us. "Tulio, I just want you to know, I'm sorry about that girl in Barcelona." Miguel said feeling guilty. 'Miguel. why did you confess that.' I thought with an urge to face palm. "So, you-"Before Tulio had a chance to finish that statement he was cut off by some guy in a red toga at the top of the stairs. "Behold! As the prophecies for told. The time of judgement, is now!" After that speech we gasped in worries. Then a bigger guy in a blue toga, and a little chubby, comes out next to the guy who spoke earlier. Then they looked at us again. 'Okay, I am really nervous right now.'

 The guy in the red outfit started to speak again. "Citizen! Did I not predict, that the gods would come to us." Me, Tulio, and Miguel started looking around for these gods he spoke of then back at him. Miguel and Tulio looked at each other with scheming faces. 'Oh no, please no. Don't tell me?!' Then he came up to us. "My lords, I am Tzekel-Kan, Your devoted high priest and speaker for the gods." He only payed attention to Miguel and Tulio and ignored me even though I was right next to them. 'They're suppose to be gods from that picture on the stone earlier.....Seriously?!' I just crossed my arms and watched this play out. "Hey." Tulio said as he waved along with Miguel. Then the chubby guy came to us. "I am chief Tannabok, What names shall we call you?" He asked including me as well. 'At least this guy has better manners then the other guy.' The guys began to introduce themselves. "I am Miguel." "And I am Tulio." As they got off Altivo, Miguel's leg was attached to Altivo's rope pulling part of his mouth. 'Poor Altivo.' "And this is (Y/n)." Miguel said introducing me. "And they call us Miguel and Tulio." Miguel said as they both were try to play the part. I looked back at the girl as she hide behind Altivo. The guy in the red toga talk to them again. "Your arrival has been  greatly anticipated." "My lords, and friend, How long will you be staying with us in El Dorado?" The guy in the blue toga asked us. I saw the girl peeked again from behind Altivo, but the priest guy noticed and went to her. "Ah, ha!" He then grabbed her "I see you caught this temple ruving thief." He pulled her  and stopped in front of us, I saw the scared look in her eyes. "How will you have us punish her?" He said with no mercy for her as he took the gold from her hands. "No,no,no,no,no." She said pleading for mercy. Tulio Looked at her confused as she was pleading to the guy holding her arm. "My lord, I am no a thief.  You- ah-see, the gods sent me to give them tribute from the temple to guild them here." Tulio looked at her disproving and Miguel did the same as he looked at Tulio to see what he thinks as she was explaining to get out of trouble. 'Com'n guys, you two could at least show some mercy for her.' "My only wish, is to serve the gods and their female companion." Se said with a sigh at the end then looked at us pleading to convince him to let her go. The guy looked at us, mainly the guys, wait for our answer. Tulio looked down at her and back at the guy while Miguel took pity on her. Then they looked at me and I glared at them, stating, - Help Her.- They looked scared at me if they were to say no, and they should,  and back at the priest. "Release her, for today." Tulio said with little confidence he had left. The priest looked please to the answer and let her go and gave her the gold piece. "You will begin, by returning this." Then brushing her to the side to the temple with a detest look. "To its rightful place."  

After she left he turned back to us with a smile. 'I official don't trust this guy.' I was still crossing my arms not trusting this situation at hand. I heard splashing and squeaking coming from behind and saw an armadillo from the forest come out of the water and chased a gold color butterfly. "My lords, and friend, why now have you chose to visit us?" Chief Tannabok asked us but before we could come up with something, the high priest cut him off. "Enough! You do not question the gods!" He said in detest as he pushed him behind. 'Man, what a attention hogger.' Then Miguel stepped forward waving his right hand in the air like a high ruler. "That's right, you do not question us." He said with confidence as Tulio nodded and crossed his arms in agreement. I just shook my head to the fact this was our excuse. "Or we will unleash our awesome and terrible power; and you don't want that." Miguel said threatening to them to avoid furthering any questioning. But I could tell it will back fire at any moment. For the priest, from what I can tell, is obsess with this whole god thing. Me and Tulio just looked at him with shock of how this will even fool them at all. "Yes, we do!" The priest said with excitement. Which stoned them both in a pause. 'We're screwed.' "You do?" Miguel said losing some of his confidence. At this point Tulio was glaring at him and I just sighed cringing my head to Miguel's stupidity, but it's one of the reasons I fell for him. "Of course we do! Vision your wrath on this non-believer! Show us the truth of your divinity!" He said raising his excitement. By then It was Tulio's turn to speak. "Divinity, One moment." He said as he turn pulling Miguel and waved his and at me to follow as we huddled. 

Until we reached a good distance away, Tulio stopped. "Miguel, you know that little voice in our head that tells us to quit while we're ahead. You don't have one!" Tulio's inner rage was leaking through again, but in whisper form. "Well I sorry, I just got carried away." Miguel said as he tried to defend himself. "Way away!" "You went to far Miguel."  I said as I flicked his head. I saw that the armadillo was playing around our feet, mainly Tulio's, still chasing the butterfly. "Maybe we should tell the truth and then beg for mercy, they might" "Are you nuts! We'll be butchered alive!"But he was cut off by Tulio cringing his forehead trying to come up with something. (The volcano scene! XD video above) They started debating and arguing when I heard Altivo neighing when I looked back I saw the volcano begin to erupt. "Uh, guys." I tried telling them, but Tulio brushed my hand away. "Not now (y/n)."  By then everyone noticed and it started getting worse. "Guys, I'm serious." But they still didn't listen and Altivo was getting scared. I tried calming him down only for a bit. As it was getting worse the chief and priest were looking at us and I was getting scared. "Guys!" But by then Miguel was hitting Tulio's head repeatedly with his palm making them look at them confused. i could tell Tulio was getting more irritated, so I plugged my ears prepared for his scream of irritation. "STOP!!!." He said in anger as his voice traveled all around and as if by command what I saw was the smoke from the volcano going back in and it just......burped.

I stood there dumbfounded with my mouth literally wide open and rubbed my eyes to this is impossible and a complete coincidence that had just happen. 'They can't really be gods?! Can they?' As I was questioning my logic of this world, the sky turned clear again  and it surprised everyone, I couldn't blame them I'm still trying to understand this at any possibility that this was just plain luck or they really are gods. I shook my head and came back to reality as the guys turned around and saw that everyone was bowing down to them. I turned to them and as they looked at for what had just happened and I just shrugged for I didn't understand it myself and let them go for it. It was as good as it was gonna get. As they took advantage of the moment as they raised their hands in the air and began to walk and play the role they were put in. Miguel pulled me along and join them in the praise, I felt my face heat a little, so I just went with it. "Don't make me start it up again, cause I will." Miguel said to man in the animal pelt and spear as he bowed back down again. I just shook my head as I went for Altivo and pulled him gently along with us. As we stopped the Priest and Chief bowed as well. "My dear lords! Come, let me show you to our temple." he said as began to walk up the stairs. Miguel looked at us with a cheeky grin. "Alright, temple." I couldn't hear what the priest said to the chief, but I could tell it wasn't friendly for he stepped aside, out of the way. As we began to follow, I looked at the chief with a smile for at least noticing me and he smiled back. I continued on and followed the guys to the flight of stairs.
