Fear ripped at her heart which stopped beating for a moment. Tears pricked at her eyes, her body moving forward. Panic struck her and her body moved on it's own, trying to run to the figured slumped on the ground. Jean held her back, using all his strength just to make sure she doesn't get too close.
(Name) felt sick, her stomach empty like someone had ripped everything out. She screamed, begging for her friend to let her go, but he wouldn't release his hold. "Jean please! Let me go!" She was crying now, tearing at the boys arm, desperate to get away from him. "No, Marco!"
"______, you can't go near him, not yet. Just calm down, you are no good to us in this state."
She turned and glared. "You don't understand!" Her foot went down onto his and she finally broke free, running towards the body she wanted so badly to hold. Yet, Jean was quicker and grabbed her again. "Marco, please no! Jean let me go now!"
Jean growled, gripping her tightly. "I can't so stop fighting. You can't do this, not now." She slumped to the ground, and he followed, just to make sure she wasn't going to touch the body of his friend.
"But I love him. Please Jean, I love him. I will never be able to hold him again. I'll never be able to see his smile or feel what it is like to be touch by him. This is my last chance so just let me go."
His eyes watched her, looking for anything to not let her go, but he couldn't. Sighing, he slowly loosened his arms and she broke away, soon to drop down next to Marco. Choking back a sob as she stared at him, half of his body was missing and torn. She grabbed a hold of his lifeless form and pressed her face into his hair, crying softly.
Closing her eyes, she prayed she could just open them again and he be staring at her with a concerned expression, asking her why she was crying. She wanted it all to just be a nightmare, but the motionless being she held gave her no hope. She raised her head and gave a mournful cry, holding Marco close to her, wanting to give up on everything.
All she wanted was to hold him. She wouldn't let him go, no matter what they told her. She couldn't accept his death.
