Mikasa entered the classroom behind Eren. They were late, and she was still trying to fix Eren's uniform and hair. He yawned and swiped at her hand that was messing with his hair. He turned frowned, running his hand in his brown locks, watching her. "I've got it, Mikasa."
"Mikasa, stop trying to make Eren presentable! He's doing just fine by himself." Jean Kirschstein laughed as he sat on his desk, Marco Bodt and Connie Springer beside him. Marco lightly hit him with his hand, his mouth forming a straight line.
"How about everyone just sits down and shuts up so I can teach this damn class?" Mr. Rivaille growled, dropping a book onto his desk. He glared as Eren and Mikasa hurried to take their seats next to Armin Arlert. Sighing, he turned and began writing onto the chalkboard. "Now today, we will be taking a pop quiz on everything you learned so far."
Eren groaned and slouched in his seat. "See Mikasa, I said we should have just stayed home."
"But, we couldn't just skip. It's important that we come." Mikasa looked at him, worried about his attitude towards the school. She turned her head away, afraid she had upset him in some way.
Levi's eyes set on her, and then he looked at Eren. "Don't whine or I'll give the class extra work." He looked down at his book and muttered, "You shit."
Mikasa glared upon hearing his words, and he smirked. "Thanks a lot, Eren." Jean shot at him, leaning back in his chair.
"I hope you fall on your ass." Mikasa glared and said lowly. Jean's eyes grew wide and he placed the chair firmly back on all fours. She turned back to the front, her angered eyes fixed on her teacher, who's brow was raised in amusement.
Armin touched her shoulder, and she softened, taking a breath. "Mikasa, it's okay."
"No, Mikasa. It's not okay." Levi insisted with a straight face, but his eyes glowed with entertainment. He was enjoying toying with her, and she hated it. "Step outside. I'll come out once I pass out the quiz."
Shocked, her mouth gaped and her shoulders slumped. What? Panic struck her and she stared at him, confused as to why. Levi pointed a finger to the door and she glared, standing and rushed pass him, out the door where she stood and waited. Leaning against the wall, she slumped down and gazed in bewilderment at the wall across from her.
All she did was get mad at Jean, which was a regular occurrence and she never once had gotten in trouble. They even started fights, the entire class included and Levi would just sit back and watch. Sometimes it would be fights between Eren and Levi, but this was different.
The door opened and the man stepped out, closing it behind him. Turning, he looked down at her with disgust. "Get up off the floor, it's dirty." He held out his hand, and she glared, placing both hands on the ground, rubbing them, hoping to collect as much dirt as she could. Standing, she kept her eyes on him
"Why did you send me out here?"
He sighed and leaned against the wall. "I got in trouble with the Head, and he told me I could let my class get rowdy like all those other times. So I'm supposed to put you in detention." She gritted her teeth. "Don't look at me like that. It's bad enough I have to stay after school, but now I have to stay with you." He glared, his tone full of hatred.
Mikasa slapped her hand on his chest, and slid it down, leaving black streaks in her wake as she entered the classroom. "Asshole." She growled, brushing the rest of the dirt off. She didn't deserve detention. She didn't do anything wrong, it was Jean's fault.
"Mikasa!" Mr. Rivaille stormed into the classroom, up to her desk and slammed his hands onto the top of the furniture. "Go see Ms. Ral until I am done with my class. She'll explain to you your punishment when you get there."
She slowly stood up, her face an inch away from his, both intensely glaring at one another. She sneered and stepped around, once again stepping out of the room, and going down the hall. She found her way to Ms. Ral's room, and rapped on the door softly. Petra Ral was a kind person, and she really liked her, so she wasn't going to push all her anger onto her.
"Oh, Ms. Ackerman!" Petra smiled and stood up from her desk. "What are you doing here? You are never one to get in trouble, except that time you and Levi got into it." She grew quiet and smiled again, stepping over to her and holding her hand out to a chair. "What happened this time, Levi again?"
Mikasa nodded, her face reddening from anger at his name. "He's giving me detention."
Petra laughed and tilted her head. "It must not be that big of a problem then, if he sent you down to see me. I'm sure you just upset him."
"What do you mean?" She didn't understand what she was saying. Who else would she have had to go see?
"Well if it was really bad, he could have sent you to see Erd or even Aurou. Maybe even Erwin, but I wouldn't want that. He may look calm, but he can be pretty scary." She chuckled and smiled warmly. "But since he sent you to me, that means he just wanted you to get away, and not have to deal with the others. More than anything, he'll probably just discuss with you what happened, and then let you go."
Mikasa was still confused about the whole situation. Why take the time to do that? Why did he make it such a big deal in front of the class? She shook her head, a new kind of warmth filling her cheeks and she looked at Petra.

Mikasa entered her classroom once everyone had left. Eren decided he was going to head home, and that he'd meet her there. She had watched him go with envy, wanting to be with him instead of the short angry man.
Levi was seated in his chair, on leg across the other. His hooded eyes watched her and he stood up. walking so he stood in front of her, he leaned against his desk and crossed his arms. "We aren't going to have this problem again, are we?" She shook her head, looking away. "Good, now you may go."
Her eyes went to the front of his shirt. "I'm sorry." He looked up for a moment, and was about to speak when she stopped him. "About your shirt. I shouldn't have done that, it was immature."
"Don't worry about that. It's just a shirt. Now, please go, your bothering me."
He was going to turn when she continued, a flustered feeling in her chest. "Why did you send me to Ms. Ral? When you could have sent me to someone else?"
"Mikasa, I said leave-"
"No!" She panicked, lowering her head. "Please answer my questions. Why send me to her, when I had done something wrong. You should have sent me to Mr. Gin or Mr. Bossard."
Levi leaned against the desk again, his hands gripping the edge. "Because I didn't want to send you to them. You weren't really in trouble, I was just trying to do my job" He reached out and grabbed a lock of her dark hair. His eyes meeting hers, he let go and stood upright. "I'll see you tomorrow in class, Ms. Ackerman. Make sure to do the homework."
She chewed on her lower lip and nodded, hurrying out of the classroom. She didn't know what was going on, but her chest was throbbing and she needed to get away from him. Maybe she'd fake sick and not come in, but she had to keep an eye on Eren. She was caught between the two, and was forever doomed to choose.
