Josh woke up alone. It took him a minute to process where he was. He was in the mines. How had he gotten here? He didn't know.

Josh stood up, his feet splashing a bit in the thin layer of water on the ground. He decided he should try to look for a way back to the lodge. Back to his friends. He knew he needed to apologize truthfully for everything he had done.

He found himself turning a corner to a room that smelled horribly of... death. There was no better way to describe it than that.

Josh immediately saw the bodies. There were five. There were two hanging on hooks. He walked over to see who they were. He almost threw up when he identified them as Matt and Jess. He didn't say anything though, he only bit his lip as he tried to stop the tears from flowing.

Josh almost didn't want to see who the other three bodies belonged to. There was one in a cage type thing, which he almost didn't identify as Ashley because she wasn't wearing her signature beanie. But to his surprise, there she was.

Chris must be devastated, Josh thought.

He continued to walk forward, wanting to leave the room, when he heard a crunch from underneath his feet. Josh moved back a bit to see what he had stepped on. It was a pair of glasses. The glass had been destroyed by being stepped on, but the frames were still identifiable. They were the same ones Chris had.

Taking a deep breath, Josh looked up. He was greeted with the bottom of a familiar pair of sneakers. He closed his eyes and sighed. Upon identifying his friend, Josh finally let himself cry.

His best friend, who he'd shared his entire life with, was dead. Josh regretted the prank and betraying Chris' trust, and he realized he would never be able to apologize. He felt horrible.

Josh's heart sunk when he saw that the last body was Sam. If anyone was going to make it through this bloodbath, he expected it to be her or Mike. Or maybe her and Mike.

Josh though of Mike and Emily. Since they weren't down here, maybe they made it? He just might have someone to go back to when he got back to the lodge.  All he wanted to do was apologize for the prank and bringing them into this apparent death trap.

When he finally got back to the lodge, the first thing he saw was a letter. It was addressed to "Whoever finds this." Josh opened up the paper, and immediately identified the print as Emily's.

Hey whoever gets this.

We have a long story to tell you. It's not a happy story, and it most certainly doesn't have a happy ending. But someone needs to know what actually happened on this mountain.

So hi. I'm Emily. I came up to this mountain with my seven friends, Josh, Matt, Sam, Ashley, Chris, Mike, and Jess. I'm not sure how many of us will make it off, if any.

I'm pretty sure Matt and Jess are dead. I'm not sure how, but we haven't seen the two for, like, eight hours and this mountain is filled with fatal things, so it's unlikely they'll be coming back. I really hope they'll come back though. There's always a chance they're alive. I mean, Jess was my best friend, and we didn't exactly end things on the best terms. And Matt, he was my boyfriend. We were in this dangerous situation, and he tried to save me. I tried to find him, I searched all around the mines. But I couldn't find him. I miss him a lot. I hope he makes it, even if I don't.

Chris was the first to die. He and Ashley got tricked by the killer and then Chris was taken by one of the Wendigo. Ashley was really upset, and she blamed herself. Sam and I tried to comfort her, but then she saw Chris out in the woods. She went after him. She was about to be attacked by a wendigo, but Sam saved her. That's how Sam died.
