Beth laid on the ground for a moment, letting the pain wash over her. It was almost like when she had first woken up after the fall. It was pretty much exactly the same, except for after the fall she was also terrified because Hannah wasn't there. "Oh Hannah," thought Beth, "I'm so sorry, I'd do anything to get you back,"

All of a sudden, she heard a loud bang a little bit in front of her. Emily. Beth stood up, taking a second to regain her balance. Then she moved as quickly as she could to where Emily was.

Beth's feet crunched in the snow, and loud shrieks filled the air behind her, but Beth was worried about Emily. And Hannah, but that's for later. Beth kept moving forward until she saw the pole at the end of the zip line.

Knowing that this was a mountain, Emily probably rolled some distance forward, so Beth trudged forward. Eventually, she saw the black of Emily's outfit contrasting the white snow.

"Emily!" screamed Beth, running over to her friend.
She was unconscious. Beth shook her repeatedly until she heard her friend groan.
"Oh, thank god!" Beth said. "I thought you were dead!"
"Not dead," said Emily, smiling painfully.
"Let's get back to the lodge."

On the way back to the lodge, Beth asked questions about her friends.
"Is everyone here?"
"Yup. Me, Matt, Mike, Jess, Chris, Ash, Josh, and Sam,"
"Any new relationships I should now about? Did Chris and Ashley finally get together?"
Emily laughed.
"They didn't, well not that I know of, a lot could've happened while I was gone. Well Mike and Jess are together, I'm with Matt, and everyone thinks Sam and Josh should get together. We're just waiting for one of them to make a move."
"How long did you look for us?"
Emily was silent for a moment.
"Months. We searched the entire forest up and down, probably at least twice." Emily sniffed, tears welling up in her eyes. "I remember they made Matt and I climb all the trees to see if you were there. God, I really thought that you would be there. That I'd smile and hug you and everything would be okay again. Josh didn't handle it well. He swore to never drink again. Sam told me that he used to just sit in your room, watching your music box play."
"It's okay," responded Beth, "I'm here now."
Emily smiled shortly at her.
"You don't get it. Nothing is good. We're in so much danger right now I don't even know why I'm taking you back to the lodge. Josh is-" Emily paused. Should she tell Beth what happened?
"Josh-he-he"
"What is it Em? What happened to Josh?"
"He...... He died."
Shock was evident in Beth's features.
"What?" Her face crumpled.
"I never got to see him again...."
Emily wrapper her arms around Beth and the two girls stood there for a moment. At peace.

Too bad it couldn't last.
