Beth had hated Emily. She had hated her for a long while. But she couldn't help but feel confused. Why was she so.. skeptical about going through with it? Why didn't she want her to die like everyone else? Was it the way Emily had acted when she had found Beth?

She shook the thought from her head. She was so close. So close to being with her sister again. Beth deeply regretted not holding onto that branch longer. Maybe the twins would be together without all the bloodshed. But Beth knew this was the only way.

Emily pretended to be unconscious. She knew she was stalling for time, and that she was going to die anyway, but she had to do something. A part of her just wanted to get it over with, but another wasn't ready yet. She needed to be consoled. The only problem is there was no one left to console her.

She sung to herself in her head.
There's no sunshine, this impossible year.
Only black days, and sky gray, and clouds full of fear
And storms full of sorrow, that won't disappear
Just typhoons, and monsoons
This impossible year

After the first verse, Emily felt eyes on her. Forgetting about her fake unconsciousness, she opened her eyes and looked up to see Beth staring at her.
She had been singing out loud.

Emily bit her lip as to keep from crying. Beth chuckled sadly. The two stayed in a comfortable silence for a moment, which was relatively odd considering one was about to kill the other. But Emily only sat deep in thought.

Beth was the one to break the silence.
"I'm sorry, Emily,"
Emily looked up at the killer, confused.
"What do you mean, 'you're sorry?'"
Beth bit her lip.
"I'm sorry I had to... take everyone away from you. I'm sorry you had to be the one to receive Ashley's letter. I'm sorry that I did everything I did. I'm sorry that I'm about to kill you. But I have to."
"Why? Why do you have to?"
"For Hannah. I have to do it for Hannah."
"Beth, Hannah's probably dead. You said you lost her after you fell, right? She's probably gone!"
"SHE'S NOT GONE!" Beth yelled.
Emily sat in stunned silence.
"I saw her." Beth whispered.
Emily looked up hopefully.
"She said for us to be together, I... I had to kill all of you. "
"What about Matt and Jess?"
"Hannah killed them herself."
"What?! How? Matt?"
Emily wiped her eyes to stop her tears. Matt was.. dead? She never told him she loved him..
Beth just looked at Emily, unable to feel what she was feeling.

Beth took the knife from her pocket. She flipped it around in her hands. She looked at the crying girl in front of her. She held the knife in her hands, looking at her reflection in the blade. Then she plunged it in Emily's stomach. Beth turned and left the room, leaving Emily and the weapon alone.

Beth was conflicted. She felt, how you say, disappointed, but she also felt relieved. Now her and her sister could be together. The lodge was silent now. There was no sound besides the spark of the fire and the Wendigo screeches outside.

Beth made her way to the living room, where she knew Hannah would be. The smile on her face grew larger as she came closer. She was so excited. She would get to see her sister again. Even if she was a Wendigo now, Beth thought the two still shared a connection.

Beth imagined the last conversation she had with Hannah. It hadn't been the best, but Beth knew soon everything would be forgiven and forgotten. That's why she hadn't made any big actions to stop the prank, only beginning to worry when she heard everyone else.

They had fought over something stupid. Beth stood still for a moment, trying to recall the topic. Oh yes, Mike. Beth could see it clearly in her head.
"Hannah! I get that you like him and whatever, but he's dating Emily! You don't want to do that to your friend, do you?"
"No! Of course not, it's just.... I think he might like me."
"Are you crazy? If he liked you, Emily'd be long gone and you two would be dating! It's just your heart playing tricks on you!"
Hannah looked hurt.
"Yeah yeah, I guess that's all it is. I never stood a chance with him, what was I thinking?"
"Hannah, that isn't what I-"
But Hannah was already leaving.

Beth stared at the doorway in front of her. This is where they had that fight, hadn't it been? Beth sighed. Hannah had to know how sorry she was, right? Beth had proved to Hannah that she would do anything for her, hadn't she?

Feeling a bit uneasy, Beth walked into the living area. Standing in the middle of the room was Hannah. She was one of the Wendigos now, but Beth believed she was still Hannah.

Beth smiled.
"Hannah?"
The monster turned around to face Beth.
"I did it." whispered Beth. "I did it for you."
The monster stared at Beth, and she swore she saw some sort of emotion in its eyes. She couldn't put her finger on what it was, though.
She took another step.
"It was difficult. I had to plan everything."
Hannah didn't move.
"I had to kill them, Hannah. But I did. I did for you. So we could be together again."
Beth kept moving forward.
"I don't have all the bodies, though, I hope you didn't need proof," Beth laughed.
"I'm pretty sure Chris, Ashley, Sam, Matt, and Jess are long gone, but Emily and Mike are just in the other room," Beth added hopefully.

After all this walking, Beth stood directly in front of Hannah.
"We can be together now," Beth whispered. "We can be happy,"

Beth smiled happily at the Wendigo, her sister. Hannah took one step towards Beth. The two stood, just looking at each other. Satisfaction coursed through Beth. She had done it. She had her sister back.

Hannah took another step forward. Beth stared at her excitedly. She felt pure joy. Then all of a sudden, confusion appeared on her face. Beth felt betrayed. Then she collapsed on the ground, a glassy coat covered her eyes.

"Hannah" removed her claw from Beth's gut and crawled out of the lodge.
