The next morning I woke up 3 hours before I was supposed to go to the airport and went for a walk on the beach,The sun was rising and I looked at the yellow and orange sky. When I walk on the beach it makes me feel free, like i don't have to worry about anything. But sadly i fear for my life, i've tried thinking of an excuse to stay here longer but no matter how old my grandma is she wouldn't believe me. I let out a sigh and took one last look at the ocean, and walked back to the house. My grandma was in the kitchen cooking breakfast
"Did you go for a walk on the beach this early?"
"Yeah i just wanted to see it one last time"
I keep my head down so she couldn't see the hurt in my eyes and tried to walk back to my room.
"Wait aren't you going to eat something?"
"No i'm not hungry"
I ran up to my room and shut the door, i went into my bathroom and splashed my face with cold water. I looked at myself in the mirror, there was dark circles under my eyes and my face was swollen from crying. I wiped my face with my towel and took a deep breath, i didn't look like myself. But i ignored my image and continued packing, as i was folding my clothes i looked down at my hands and they were shaking, i wanted to do something about it but i just ignored it.
"Come on it's time to go"
I quickly pulled the hood of my sweater over my head so she wouldn't see my face.
"Okay grandma"
My grandma's boyfriend pulled my suitcases down the stairs and put them in the car, as we were driving to the airport i could hear my grandma and her boyfriend whispering about something and every two seconds they would look back at me.
"Tell your mother to call me when you get home"
"I will"
I answered while keeping my head down. We got to the airport and my grandma's boyfriend took my bags out the car, i knew this was the part where she's going to hug and kiss me and tell me goodbye. But i couldn't let her see my face, not like this. I grabbed my bags and turned away walking towards the airport doors, and said a quick bye under my breath. I keep walking and didn't stop or look back, i finally get to security and look back. My grandma and her boyfriend looked liked they were long gone. I got on the plane and sat in my seat near the window, there were people all around me and i took out my phone and acted like i was on it, a guy started walking towards the seats i was sitting in and he sat down right beside me, i turned away from him trying to hide my face.
"Hi"
He said in a chirpy voice
"Hi"
I replied still looking away from him.
"You know it's not polite to look away from someone whos talking to you"
"Well my mom always told me not to talk to strangers"
He let out a big laugh
"Well we're going to be sitting on this plane together for the next 4 hours, We're practically best friends"
I turned my head to face him, he was actually kind of cute he looked like he was in his early 20's and was wearing a muscle t-shirt with track pants. I pulled my hood down and as soon as he could fully see my face his smile turned into a concerning frown.
"Are you running away from home?"
"I wish"
"Well i know it's like a guy thing where you have to say a girl looks nice even though she doesn't, but you look like crap"
I manage to smile a little
"Thanks"
"What happened to you?"
"It's a long story"
At that time the pilot started speaking.
"Our flight time today is approximately 4 hours and 10 minutes"
"We got time"
