My legs were shaking as me Stephanie drove to the party.
"We're going to have so much fun"
"Say it enough times and I might start to believe you"
"You'll thank me later"
"Who else is going to be at this party?"
"The hole school mostly"
"Awesome"
Me and Stephanie pull up to a club that has lights brighter then the sun. I've only been in this club once and that was to use the washroom. There was a million cars in the parking lot, it took us years to find to find a spot.
"I wonder if Chris is here yet"
"Look to your right"
I look over and see Chris's car parked right beside us.
"Well that answered my question"
"Come on let's go"
We walked into the party and it smelled like beer and sweat but it looked like everyone was having fun, maybe it's time for me to have so fun too.
"I'm going to find something to drink"
"Your leaving me?"
"Why don't you go find Chris"
"Leaving me alone at a party is not exactly the best idea"
"You'll be fine"
Stephanie left me alone standing in the middle of the room full of people that were looking at me like I was lost puppy. I start walking through the crowd looking for Chris, it wasn't long until I spotted him on the edge of the dance floor talking to Adam. My hands started to sweat as I walked towards him.
"Hey friend"
"Hey Laura, I didn't know you were going to be here"
"I come with many surprises"
I look over at Adam and he has a blank stare on his face.
"Hey Adam"
"Umm do I know you"
"Laura, we were lab partners last year...and the year before that"
"Oh right, you look nice"
"Thanks"
Adam starts to look back and forth between me and Chris.
"Well I'll leave you two alone"
Adam walked off and I looked back at Chris, who was smiling at me. Which woke up the butterflies in my stomach.
"If I knew you were coming I would of thought you would have shown up in a t-shirt and jeans"
"Yeah, the dress was Stephanie's idea"
"That's okay, it's beautiful on you"
We stood there for a while staring at each other, a year ago I never would have thought I would be at a party, in a dress with Chris.
"Hey loser"
I turn around to see Tiffany, no surprise that she would be here. I look down at her dress and my jaw drops to the floor, she's wearing the same dress as me...the exact same.
"Hey Tiffany, I knew I smelled evil when I came in here"
"Haha well, we're wearing the same dress so great minds think alike"
Tiffany shot my a dirty look but forgets about me when she sees Chris, she pushes me aside and stands in front of him.
"You didn't tell me that you were going to be here"
"I don't need to"
Tiffany stares down at the ground and almost looks like she's going to cry, but sucks it up and heads for the dance floor where the rest of her friends are.
"Sorry you had to see that"
"It's okay, Tiffany can be a little pushy"
"Do you want to dance?"
"I can't dance"
"Come one, everyone can dance"
Chris grabbed my hand and guided me to the dance floor. His hand was warm and soft as he held mine. We were now standing in the middle of the dance floor. Chris starts moving to the music, while I stood there and watched him.
"Come on, dance"
"I told you, I can't dance"
Chris took both my hands and starts to sway them to the music, he twirls me out his arms and back in. Now my back is to his chest and his arms are wrapped around my hips, we stood there swaying to the music.
"You're a pretty good dancer for someone who can't dance" Chris whispered in my ear
I opened my mouth but no words came out, I think it was because his arms were still around me. I could feel Chris's body heat against mine, this is way better then my dreams.
I check my phone and it's 2:35am, Chris notices that I'm looking at my phone and lays his chin and my shoulder.
"Are you ready to go"
"No, I think I'll stay for a while"
"Well in that case lets go sit and talk"
Chris let go of my hips and took my hand, I followed him to a table in the corner of the room. We sat facing each other and Chris takes my hands and holds them. There's no way Chris could be into me, maybe he had a lot to drink before I got here.
"Are you okay"
"Yeah, why"
"Well manly because your leg is shaking under the table"
"Oh sorry, I guess I'm a bit nervous"
"You don't need to be nervous, it's just me"
"Exactly, you're you and frankly that makes me nervous"
Chris leaned over and put his hand on my cheek, and smiled.
"You make me nervous too"
"No I don't"
"I'm serious, I'm so used to popular girl with huge egos. You're different"
"I think I like being different"
I looked into Chris's eyes, we probably sat there holding hands for hours because when I looked at my phone again it was 4:12am.
"Wow, I should find Stephanie and head home"
"I'll help you find her"
I really hope Stephanie didn't get drunk and go home with someone because me and Chris looked in every corner of the club and there was no sight of her.
"Did you try calling her?"
"She left me at a party, I don't think she's taking calls right now"
"Did you look in the bathroom?"
"There were about six girls in there with their heads in the toilet and none of them were her"
Chris tried to be serious but he ended up bursting out with laughter.
"Great, how am I supposed to get home it's 4 o'clock in the morning"
"Come on I'll bring you home"
