Chapter 2 -Interesting Greetings
That had to have been the worst flight ever. The fat guy had his head on my shoulder sleeping the hours away and the women was tapping away on her laptop the whole time. Although I managed to sleep a few hours, the rest of it was hell.
I got off the plane to see loads of paparazzi flashing their cameras at me. I shielded my face from the flashes and ignored everything they were shouting. I quickly got my luggage, and went into the airport bathroom. Luckily they were all guys so they couldn't come in.
I took off my sunglasses and rubbed my eyes. Today was going to be a long day. I put on some well-deserved makeup to make myself presentable, picked up my stuff and ran out of that bathroom right out of the airport. I quickly got a cab and told them my parent's address, luckily they haven't moved since I left, at least I hope they didn't.When we reached the house I paid the man, got my things and rang the doorbell. My father opened the door and smiled.
"Come on in Eleanor, why did you knock it's your house too. Also why do you have so many things?" I was shocked that he didn't recognize me. Well, we were twins so I guess it was okay he got us mixed up. I walked in and set my stuff down on the couch approaching my dad again.
"Dad, it's me, Elena." His eyes lit up and engulfed me in a huge hug.
"Elena darling I've missed you so much. How was California?" he asked me once he let me go and we sat on the couch.
"It was wonderful actually, but I lost my accent as you can tell." He laughed at me.
"Well I bet once you're here for a bit you'll get it back again." I nodded and he called for my mum.
"What on earth do you want Clive?" she said coming down the stairs.
"Elena's here love!" he called back to her. I heard her come running down the steps and she attacked me in one of her famous bone crushing embraces. I laughed, I really hope she doesn't still hate me.
"Oh my gosh Elena how are you, I haven't seen you for ages. You know your sister's got herself a pop star boyfriend? Have you got one now?" she asked me. There she goes bragging about Eleanor again. For the past 4 years on the phone all I've heard is Eleanor this and Eleanor that, can the focus not be on me for a change? Is that too much to ask?
"I'm fine mum, but no, we had to break up because we both didn't want a long distance relationship. He was very charming though." Her face lit up like a Christmas tree! Of course all this is bullocks since I haven't had a boyfriend in a year but hey, I'm not totally lying. We did break up over long distance. It is so far from the girl's dorm to the boy's dorm.
"Really, you had a boyfriend? What was his name tell me all about him?" that's more like it.
"His name was Nathan, Nathan McDonald. He was such a sweetie, too bad we had to break up, he's all the way in
Australia right now." I willed myself to cry but it didn't work, I got teary eyed though which was good enough for my mum."Oh honey it's alright, you might see him again you never know." I nodded and tried not to laugh, I guess I'm a pretty good actress.
"Anyways, how is it here?" I asked clearing up my fake attempt to cry.
"Everything's just great, your father has moved up in Modest! Management so now we are basically rich, it's wonderful really." I mentally had a party in my head, new clothes for me! WOO!
"Okay, I'll be right back, I just have to put my things in my room." They nodded and started having a conversation about god knows what.
I climbed the steps and got to my room. This is the moment of truth, let's see what they have don't to my room. I opened the door and revealed my room... exactly how I left it when I was 15. Wow, I figured they would've changed it into an office of sorts.
