Charmed!

Chapter 26: Premature!

  Phoebe walked in the house and slammed the door. "Bad date?" Paige asked. "The worst!" Phoebe exclaimed. "How did it end?" Prue asked. "With a break up." Phoebe responded. "I thought you liked him." Piper stated as she walked into the room. "That was my mistake." Phoebe stated. "Well, dinner is ready." Piper stated. Leo then orbed in with the boys. "Am I still taking you to your doctors appointment?" Phoebe asked. "I hope so. But It's tomorrow." Prue replied sitting down. "Oh. I'm a little behind on days." Phoebe stated as she helped Piper put the food on the table. They all sat down and ate.
     The next day Prue was waiting for l and then Andy got home. "I thought you worked late?" Prue asked. "I got off early." Andy replied as he gave Prue a kiss. "Well, Phoebe is taking me to my doctors appointment." Prue stated. "I'll go too." Andy stated and Prue smiled. But then Prue screamed in pain. "What's wrong?" Andy asked. "My water just broke." Prue replied. "But your only 7 months pregnant!" Andy exclaimed. "The baby doesn't know that!" Prue exclaimed in pain. "I'll take you." Andy stated. "Call my sisters!" Prue exclaimed and they left to the hospital.
    Prue was in a room when your sisters got there. "Where is she?" Piper asked holding Chris and Leo held Wyatt. "She's in a room. The doctor hasn't come out." Andy replied worriedly. Phoebe sat next to Andy and put her arm around him. "Don't worry. Prue is a fighter." Phoebe reassured. "Thanks." Andy stated with a shy smile. Then the doctor went came into the waiting room. "Prudence Halliwell?" The doctor asked. "That's us!" Piper exclaimed as everyone stood up. "Prue is about to give birth. But the baby is premature. Prue should recover." The doctor explained. "Should?" Paige asked. "Well, we can never tell. But the baby.... It's hard to tell.     Sometimes a premature baby lives, if it's a couple of weeks or a month premature. But this baby.... It's three months early. It's rare for a baby to survive that, but it is possible. Most of the times mothers survive, but once in a while they don't. If they do survive and their baby doesn't they usually wish they died. But, if what you said is true, and Prudence is a fighter then she and possibly the baby could be okay. But possibly not." The doctor explained and everyone nodded. "Could we see her?" Andy asked. "She is about to give birth, so only the father can go in right now." The doctor replied and everyone nodded. Andy went into the room.
    Andy left the room and over to everyone. They all stood up in his presence. "So?" Paige asked. "Prue is fine. She's in recovery." Andy replied. "And the baby?" Piper asked. "They don't know " Andy replied and everyone sighed.
        The doctor walked into the waiting room and they all stood up. "I don't think he's going to make it." The doctor stated and they all were sad. "The mother is holding the baby and sayong goodbyes. You all can do the same." The doctor stated and they all went in Prue's room. Andy got in the bed with Prue and held her who was holding the baby boy.
     Everyone said their goodbyes and the doctors took the baby away. Piper, Phoebe, Paige, Leo, Wyatt, and Chris all went home but Prue was told by the doctor to stay overnight and they let Andy stay with her because loosing a child is hard for a mother so Andy was there to comfort her.
    The next day the doctor walked in Prue's room and saw Prue asleep on her hospital bed and Andy asleep in a chair next to the bed. Andy woke up and saw the doctor. "Yes?" Andy asked getting up. "It's a miracle!" The doctor exclaimed. "What?" Andy asked. "Your baby boy is alive." The doctor responded and Andy smiled. Andy woke up Prue. "What?" Prue asked still sad from yesterday. "He's alive!" Andy exclaimed. "What?" Prue asked. "Our baby boy is alive!" Andy exclaimed and Prue got up fast and hugged and kissed Andy. "Could we see him?" Prue asked. "I'll bring him in." The doctor stated and left.
     Prue and Andy sat on the bed and Andy's arm was around the very excited Prue. The doctor came back and handed him to Prue. "He's fine.... And he's ours." Andy stated with a smile and Prue smiled too. "This is amazing!" Prue exclaimed. Prue looked at Andy and they kissed, they looked at their new son and were happy.
  Everyone welcomed them home the next day at Prue's home. "Do you know a name yet?" Paige asked. Prue looked at Andy who smiled and they turned back. "Victor Halliwell." Prue replied and they all smiled. "Dad would love that!" Prue exclaimed and everyone smiled.
