Meeting The Parents Part 2

We pull into the parking lot of the restaurant. It's the same one Josh and I went to on our first date.

I look over at Josh and smile then say,"Lets go get this over with."

He smiles back and says,"Lets go beautiful."

Connor coughs and says,"Come on lovers before you make me puke."

I roll my eyes and get out of the car. Josh walks over to me and we walk hand in hand inside with Connor beside him.

I see my mom sitting at a table in the back talking to a women with short blonde hair. It could only be Josh's mom but where's his dad? I take my seat across the table from Josh and beside my mom, still confused. Josh must feel the same way because he says,"Where's dad?"

His mom says,"He couldn't come tonight. He wasn't feeling well."

Josh just nods. His mom turns to me and says,"You must me Alexis. I've heard many great things about you. I'm Michelle."

I say,"It's nice to meet you too. You can call me Alex though."

Michelle says,"Im sorry my husband, Chris couldn't be here tonight. You'll meet him soon though."

I say,"It's fine I understand."

My mom says,"Michelle and I have been talking about where you'll be staying and what's going to happen after the babies born."

I say,"What do you mean?"

My mom says,"Well I'm hardly home so I think it would best if you stay with Josh or Alice during some of the days I'm gone."

I say,"I do that anyway."

Michelle says,"You're mother has told me this but we think you should be with Alice as much as possible before you baby is born."

I say,"It won't be any different after I have my baby though. I'll still get to see her."

My mom says,"Actually no it won't be the same at all. You and josh will have to pay attention to that baby 24/7."

Josh says,"We know this."

Michelle says,"We're just telling you that it won't be easy."

I say,"I don't expect it to be easy."

Michelle says,"Im glad you know."

I'm about to reply when the waiter comes to take our order.

He says,"Hello I'm Dave. What can I get you today?" We all order different things then he tells us he'll be back shortly with our food.

While we wait on the food, we talk about normal things like school, how we are,and just everything.

When our food is finally here we all eat in silence until Josh speaks up,"I know this is going to sound really strange to all of you but I've been waiting to do something for a while now."

My mom and Michelle smile at him and nod. I guess while I wasn't paying attention Josh came beside me.

He says,"Alexis, I know we might have been together long but I want to be with you forever. This baby isn't going to slow things down at all. It's a blessing. I know I say this a lot but I love you so much," he gets down on one knee then continues,"Will you marry me?"

*Earlier today*

Josh's Point of View*

I pull into Alex's driveway to see my mom already here. I sigh and get out of the car and walk to the front door. I knock and ring the door bell. Not even 5 minutes later Alex's mom comes to door.

She smiles and say,"You're finally here."

I laugh and follow her into the living room. I see my mother sitting on the love seat.

I say,"Hey mom."

She looks up and says,"Hey."

Alex's mom sits down beside mine. I sigh and run my hands through my hair.

My mom says,"Well are you going to tell us what the big surprise is?"

I say,"You know how I have told you both how much Alex means to me right?"

They both nod so I continue,"I don't want to be with anyone else. I promise you both this. I want to spend my life with her. So this is why I called you two here. I want to ask her to marry me but I wanted your permission, Mrs.Jackson."

Alex's mom smiles and says,"I think you know me well enough to call me Mary now but of course I give you permission."

I smile at Mary and my mother and say,"Thank you."

Present time*

Alex's Point of view*

I can't believe what I just heard.

Josh says,"Uhm Alex are you okay?"

I say,"Of course. And the answer is yes. Yes I'll marry you."

He smiles and pulls me into a hug then whispers in my ear,"Im so happy. I love you so much."

I smile and say,"I love you too."

I hope you guys liked this chapter. I'm trying my best to update as soon as I can. It's hard with school though. I'm thinking about writing another story after I finish this one, which isn't going to be for a while but it won't be a fan fiction if I do end up writing one. Tell me what you think.
