Finding Out The Genders

I wake up in the Josh's arms, like always, but I can't help myself from smiling.  Today we find out the genders of our babies and Josh can be there on time for once.  I look up at Josh and see that he's still sleeping.  I slowly get out of his arms and walk into the bathroom. 

I plug up my straightener and start bushing my hair while it gets hot.  I start to pick up the straightener when I hear my phone ringing in my room. 

I hurry back in there and pick it up,"Hello." 

The voice says,"Hello is this Alexis Jackson?" 

I say,"Yes." 

The voice says,"This is your father." 

I say,"What do you want?" 

My dad says,"Your mom tells me that you're having a baby." 

I say,"Im having two but why do you care?" 

He says,"Ive been offered a job back in town.  I think we should meet up and talk." 

I say,"Why should i?  You haven't even tried to talk to me in 4 years." 

He says,"I know Alexis but I want to make things right between us." 

I say,"I'll think about it.  I have to go. Bye."

He sighs and says,"Bye." 

I hang and lay my phone down on my night stand.  I walk back into my bathroom and start straightening my hair. 

When I finish I walk back into my room to that Josh is still asleep.  I roll my eyes and walk into my closet.  What to wear, what to wear.  I can't fit in of my pants or shirts anymore so a few weeks ago I had to buy maternity clothes.  I just grab a pair of pants since they all look the same anyway.  Shirts are always so hard to pick out though.  I bought a lot of cute maternity shirts but I know I probably won't get to wear most of them. 

I finally decide on a blue and grey striped shirt.  I hurry and change in my closet then go see if Josh has woken up yet.  And of course he hasn't moved.  I pick up my phone and see that it's 10 am.  My appointments at 1 so I decide to go make breakfast then wake him up. 

I made eggs, bacon, and pancakes.  It took 20 minutes just to find a tray so I could carry the food up stairs.  I put an equal amount of food on both plates then pours us each a glass of orange juice. I put it on a tray and start carrying it up to my room.  When I get to my room he is still sleeping so I sit the food down on my dresser then go and sit beside him on my bed. 

I shake him and say,"Josh get up." 

He groans but doesn't wake up.  I repeat what I just did with no success. 

I shake him and say,"Josh get up. I made food." 

He groans again. I sigh. I hate to do this but it's only way to wake him. 

I scream,"Oh my god! Josh get up hurry!" 

He sits up and says,"Are you okay? Are you hurt? Are you in labor?" 

I say,"Im fine. I just needed to get you up." 

He grunts and says,"What's so important?" 

I say,"I made food and the appointment is in," I check my phone then continue," an hour."  

He nods and walks over and gets the food tray then comes back to the bed.  He starts eating and I do the same.

After he finishes eating he says,"Im going to take a quick shower then we'll leave." 

I say,"Okay."  He gets up and walks into the bathroom.  I hurry and finish eating then take the dishes back down stairs.  I wash them and put them up then walk back up stairs and lay on my bed. Josh comes out a few minutes later with a pair of black jeans and a blue "Just be You" t shirt on. 

I say,"You're looking handsome today." 

He says,"And you're looking beautiful today but thats normal." 

I smile and say,"Are you ready?" 

He says,"Yeah come on."

We pull in the parking lot and I notice that there's that many cars here today. Good that means we won't have to wait long. We walk inside and I sign in like always then we take a seat.

I say,"Are you excited?" 

He says,"Yes. Are you?" 

I say,"Of course." 

Before he can reply Alice walks in and sits beside me. 

I smile at her and she says,"I can't wait to find out the genders." 

I say,"Me either." 

The door opens and a nurse says,"Alexis Jackson." 

All three of us get up and walk back.  The nurse leads us to a room and says that she'll be back in a minute. I get on the table and lay down like I always do.

My normal nurse, which is named Emily, comes in and says,"So we get to find out the genders today. You guys excited?" 

I smile and say,"Yes. I can't wait to start buying stuff." 

Emily laughs and says,"Thats normal. Now pull up your shirt so we can get started." 

I do as she says and she puts the jell stuff on my stomach. After a few seconds I hear the heart beats. I smile.

She say,"Okay they both look perfectly heathy."

Josh says,"That's good to hear." 

She says,"Yes. Now you see that right there?"

She points to something on the screen.

I say,"Yes."

She points at something else and says,"And this?"

I say,"Yes."

She smiles and says,"Congrats you're having two baby boys."

So I wasn't going to update until later this week but then I realized that I didn't know if I would get to do that or not. So I just went ahead and posted it now. Tell me what you think!
