Chapter 14
I laughed as Chris got splashed with water by some other girl from the pack. Yup. The fountain in the park was humongous. It could even hold several people for swimming. The girl giggled at him, soaking wet. He was now wet, and his shirt was soaked. He rolled his eyes, and shrugged off his shirt, revealing those wonderful muscles and abs of his. He gave me a look which set me on fire. He licked his lips, and then winked at me, and went to the fountain, collected water in his palm, and then started walking towards me.
I widened my eyes as he neared me, and it dawned on me that he was going to splash the water on me. I gasped, and tried to stand, but Josh held me down, chuckling evilly.
"Damn you, Josh!" I cursed, and tried to wiggle free from his tight grasp.
"You should damn him," Josh mused to himself, as he hummed along to a song which I didn't know. Chris was getting nearer, and the water sloshed in his palm.
"No!" I yelled, elbowing Josh in the ribs.
He grunted, but kept his firm grip on my arms, and hands. I looked at Maria pleadingly, and she just smirked at me, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Thanks, Maria!" I shouted.
"No problem!" She yelled back.
Chris was now looming over me like a tower, and I gulped as he started to pour the water down on me. I waited for the water to splash on me, but it didn't come.
I opened my eyes slowly, and he was standing in front of me, smiling.
And then the water came. I yelled in surprise, and jumped up, ignoring Josh's muffled grunts as he got pushed down by me.
"Chris!" I huffed, and he gulped, and then backed away. I grabbed his shirt to wipe off the water on me, and held them in my hands as I took one menacing step towards him.
He held up his hands in surrender, and I couldn't help but smirk. I chased after him, ignoring the stares and laughter from the rest.
"Animal on the loose!" He yelled, pointing to me as we passed by some people who were flying kites. "Look who's talking!" I snapped.
It was actually a comical site to see two teenagers running around. One shirtless, and one wet. I couldn't help but laugh as well, as I caught up with Chris, and wrapped my hands around his waist. "Damn. Looks like you've caught me," he whispered, and then whisked me away into the more private area of the park.
I giggled, and threw his shirt at him. "You'll need it," I stated.
"Right," he said, and shrugged on his wet shirt.
He sat us down on the bench, and I shook my wet hair at him.
He grimaced as the wet drops of water touched his face. I laughed at him, and gave him a peck on the lips.
"I hate you, Chris," I said bluntly.
"I love you too, Adeline," he chuckled.
