Chapter 21

"What are you doing here?" Chris questioned, and I side-stepped him easily. Those faces, the faces I've grown to know so much. They were here. They were really here.

     "Maria, Josh! Rachel, Jonah...? What are you guys doing here?" I asked, and Chris relaxed immediately. "Well, we're here to accompany you. Apparently, you guys ran off, huh?" Rachel joked, and I smiled. "Rachel! I missed you," I said, and Jonah wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "It's good to see you again, Adeline," Jonah said, and I smiled at all of them. 

     "Maria! Josh! I missed you too!" I exclaimed, and Chris yawned. 

     "Yeah, yeah. Can we hurry this up? I wanna sleep," Chris said, blinking slowly. 

     I slapped Chris across his chest. "Don't be mean, Chris. They just got here, and... oh my gosh, I missed you all!" I gushed, and Chris snorted, rolling his eyes. 

     "What are you guys even doing here anyway?" Chris asked. 

     "Come in. Before someone sees you," I said, and ushered them in. 

     "We came because we were worried about you. You didn't know how I was frantically pacing around the house, waiting for your return, and then Chris's dad showed up with your dad and told us that you ran away!" Maria gushed, and I frowned. 

     "How did you find us anyway?" I asked. 

     "Scent. Thanks to Josh, who got his scent fixed by his dad. He's senses are heightened because his senses are just opened up to him," Maria explained, and Chris yawned. 

     "Well, if you don't mind, I wanna sleep," Chris grumbled, and I chuckled, rolling my eyes. He pulled the quilt over his body, and Rachel scoffed. "For a wolf, you sure act like a pig," she said, and I laughed. 

     A low, warning growl sounded from under the covers. I immediately shut up. 

     "Hey, why don't we split up into two teams? One for the girls, and one for the boys. We can get a different room," Rachel suggested, and I found myself nodding slowly. 

     "Sure. It'll give us sometime to catch up anyways," Maria agreed, and Chris grumbled. "I wanna cuddle up to my Adeline," he protested, and I blushed slightly. 

     Maria and Rachel shot me a look. A look which said, you better tell me what happened or we'll torture you until you give in. 

     "Okay," I shrugged, and Chris grumbled, rolling over, and Josh laughed. 

     I got dressed, and put on a shirt and shorts, walking out of the bedroom. 

     "One more room please," I said sleepily to the receptionist and Rachel took the keys from the lady. Once we reached my bedroom, I grabbed Maria out of the room and bid my boyfriend and his friends good night. 

     "I'm sleepy. I'll talk to you guys tomorrow," I said, and jumped on the bed, and Rachel and Maria chuckled, and snuggled on either side of me.

I woke up to the bright morning light glaring into the room, and I yawned, and stretched and got up. I looked to my right and found Rachel almost falling off the bed. I looked to my left and saw Maria snoring softly, her hand fell off the bed a little bit, and I chuckled, shaking my head.
