The Next Generation

Chapter 10

Hunter's POV:

"Call her again." Ella pesters me. She woke up about an hour ago and Skye's been missing for three hours. We can't find her. She won't answer our calls or texts. She turned the tracker off on her phone. It's literally scaring us.

"I have. This is the fiftieth time." Yes I've been counting.

"She won't answer mine either." Lucas said with a frown.

"Moms going to kill us." Ella said. Her and dad are still at work. So it's just Austin, Cody, Daniel, and Steven as the only adults. But they are freaking out just as much. We tried to follow Skye but we lost her.

"Okay. I'll go out to look for her. If I find her I'll call Cody. Keep trying to call her." Austin tells us. We nod and he leaves. I dialed her number again. This time it only rang twice before I got sent to voicemail. The other times she didn't even forward our calls. She just let them ring.

"She's near her phone." I tell them.

"How do you know?" Ella asked.

"She let it ring twice before she forwarded it." I tell them. Cody was on the phone with someone.

"No!" He yelled. We all looked at each other. He hung up the phone and looked at us.

"Who was that?" We all ask.

"Skye. She answered and told us to leave her alone. She said that if we don't she won't come home. She's turning her phone off. She was crying." He said. That brought  tears to mine and Ella's eyes.

"We have to find her." Ella said her voice cracking. I went over to hug her and we both started crying. Cody's phone rang and he answered it.

"Hello?" He said putting it on speaker.

"I found her car. It's not a pretty sight." Austin said on the other line.

"What's wrong Austin?" Daniel asked.

"It's crashed into a tree. Completely demolished. There is no sign of blood so I don't think she was in it. Or she got out just in time. She's nowhere near it." He told us.

"Where are you?" Steven asked already grabbing his keys.

"A block north from the park." Austin said. Steven was out of the house as soon as he finished his sentence.

"Austin. She called me. She told me to leave her alone. She said if we don't leave her alone she is not coming home. She's turned her phone off." Cody said.

"Cody her phone is in the car." Austin said.

"When did you get there?" Cody asked.

"Five minutes ago. When did she call you?" Austin asked.

"Ten minutes ago. That means she is not far from there. We are on our way. We will split up and look everywhere. Stores allies everywhere." Cody said and hung up. We all got into a glacé and sped off to where Austin is. When we got there I saw her car. It wasn't a pretty sight. I didn't waste time and went west. Ella went east. Kyla went with her. Lucas went with me. Dean and Andrew went north. Jared and Kyle went south. We will find her. We went into a store.

"Have you seen her?" I asked a lady at the counter. She looked at the picture on my phone for a few seconds.

"Yes she was here about three minutes ago. She was buying bandages. She looked pretty beat up." She said looking back at us.

"Did you see which way she went?" Lucas asked.

"Left." She said. We thanked her and ran out of the store. We split up and he went to one side I went to the other. I walked into another store. I asked a lady if she saw her.

"Bathroom." The lady said. I almost jumped over the counter to hug her. I ran to the bathroom and checked each stall. There was one locked but no feet that I could see.

"Hello?" I asked slightly knocking on it. There was no answer. So I looked over the stall to see if anyone was in there. When I did I saw a bandage wrapper but no Skye.

"Skylar where are you?" I asked. I ran back out f the bathroom.

"She just left." The lady said. I ran out the door but I didn't see a person on the sidewalks or roads. She can't be far.

"Hunter this way!" Lucas yelled. I followed his voice and saw him heading to an ally. I ran after him. I heard a girl yell to get away. And I knew right away it was Skye.

"Skylar stop!" I tell at her when I catch sight of her fighting to get free from Lucas.

"Leave me alone I'm not going home!" She yelled at us.

"Skye we were worried about you. You don't fucking do that ever again. We have everyone looking for you. Why didn't you answer our calls?" I ask her. She was still fighting to get free.

"Because I didn't want to be found. I want time alone." She says and starts crying.

"You crashed your car." I tell her. She looks at her wrist and I can see it swelling.

"It was an accident." She says.

"Your wrist. What happened to it?" I ask her.

"It got stuck when I crashed. It's broke. But I still don't want to go home. I'm fine." She said.

"Skye you broke your wrist. You're not fine. We need to get you to a hospital." Lucas said. She shook her head and started freaking out again. She kicked his shin and when he loosened his grip she ran. But she didn't get far because Austin and Daniel were at the other end if the ally.

"Leave me alone!" She yelled and fell to her knees crying.

"Skylar please!" I yell. Crying myself.

"Please just leave me alone." She whispers to no one really. "Please."

"Baby girl look at me." Cody says coming from in between Austin and Daniel. She doesn't look at him.

"No." She whispers.

"Look at me." He says sternly. She slowly raises her head to look at him.

"They hate me." She whispered and hugged him with her good arm.

"They don't hate you. Skylar no one hates you." He said raising her head to look at him. "We need to get you to a doctor. I'll drive you. We can tell the others to go home. Just me and you." He said. I wanted to protest but I knew it was better for her to be alone. She nodded and he picked her up bridal style walking past us. She buried her head in his chest and was crying. He just walked out if the ally towards the hospital which was not far from here. I knew that's where she was going before we caught her.

"I love you." I whispered even though she can't hear me. I hope she's okay.
