It was morning. Rita woke up, getting out of bed, leaving the room to find her husband in their kitchen, cooking up some breakfast. The smell of eggs and sausages was filling the house. Although, Rita didn't seem to enjoy the smell as she fixed her hair up from it's messy bed head. While he was cooking, Roddy turned to find his wife up and about, growing a smile to the sight of her. "Well, good morning there, sleepy head." He spoke in a cheerful voice.
"Mmh, morning." Rita said in a groggy voice.
"I have some eggs and sausages all ready if you would like some."
"Yeah, sure. Thank you." Rita said, quietly, sitting down by the table when Roddy came walking up to her with two plates filled with food as he laid a plate down in front of her before laying another one next to her.
"Anything you'd like to drink at the moment?" he asked her.
"Water would be just fine. Thank you."
"Alright, coming right up." Roddy said, walking back in the kitchen until he came back with a glass of water and a mug of hot coffee, laying them close to the plates. "Here you are, my dear lady."
"Thank you." Rita said.
Roddy walked up to her, kneeling down close to her face. "You doing okay this morning?" He asked, stroking his wife's hair.
"Yes, Roddy, I'm fine. I just woke up." Rita scoffed, smiling.
"Well, in that case, would you be happy to kiss the chef? It says so on my apron after all." Roddy asked. Rita chuckled, rolling her eyes, playfully before pulling her husband in for a kiss.
Once she pulled away from him, she started smelling something she suddenly found potent. "Ugh, your breath stinks."
Roddy put his hand in front of his mouth, exhaling his breath on it to smell, but he didn't seem to be bothered by it, which left him confused. "I just brushed my teeth a little while ago."
"Well, then use mouthwash or something."
"Are you sure you're alright, Rita?"
"Yes, Roddy, I'm okay. Can I at least eat please? I'm starving." Rita said, all annoyed.
"Okay. I'm just asking. Just looking out for you." Roddy said, sitting in his chair just a corner closer to his wife.
"I appreciate you doing that, Roddy. Thank you, but I'm fine."
"Hey, I'm here for you."
Once they were done with their breakfast, Roddy took his dishes back to the kitchen. Rita took a while to finish up her food before she took her dishes to the kitchen where she found her husband by the sink, washing the dishes as she walked up to him, putting her dishes in the sink where he was scrubbing. "Thank you, ma'am. Was it okay?" He asked.
"Yes, it was good. Thank you, Roddy." Rita said.
"You're welcome. Thought you'd might like something that." Roddy said, looking down at his wife's dishes where he noticed a half of the eggs he gave her before turning back to her, looking concerned. "Hmm, you usually eat the right amount of eggs there. You got full already?"
"Yeah, I guess you could say that. Wasn't too terribly hungry there."
"Well, alright, no biggie. If you're full, you're full. No judgement there." Roddy shrugged, dumping the rest of the poached eggs in a nearby trashcan.
Watching the rest of the yolk, spilling in the trash caused Rita to clench her stomach, suddenly feeling sick. "Ooh, excuse me. Bathroom." She went, rushing out of the kitchen to the bathroom.
