Skyler's POV

"Oi! Wake up!" A voice screamed at my ear. I groaned loudly and opened my eyes. I saw my brother's face grinning like a loon. Irritated I grabbed my pillow and threw it at his face, hard.

"Urg!" he shouted as he fell, while I stood up feeling satisfied and headed to the bathroom.

"What was that for Skyler?" Blake complained as he stood up, dusting himself.

"For screaming at my ear. That hurt! Why did you screamed at my ear huh?" I asked, annoyed.

"It's fun." Blake said in a blank face, that screams 'DUH!'

My eye twitched. "Just get out! My ear drums are still ringing."

"Alright, alright. Don't get your knickers in a twist." He said as left, avoiding a pillow aimed at his face.

I glared at the door for a while, then sighed. I went to the bathroom and showered. As I left my room, I immediately smelled food. I quickly went to the kitchen and saw my family already eating.

"Ah! Skyler, breakfasts ready." Mom smiled as she saw me.

"Thanks Mom." I sat and ate my food. Yum, Pancakes.

"You boys should hurry, its your first day of school." Dad said as he read the papers.

Blake waved his hand, dismissively. "Don't worry Dad, we've got plenty of time left."

I smiled. "Yeah Dad. Don't worry, I'll make sure Blake won't get into trouble."

"Hey!" Blake shouted, fake offence and mock glared at me.

We all laughed.

Dad chuckled, then looked at us. "After school come back home immediately, there will be a meeting with the pack."

"Sure Dad." Blake and I answered with a smile.

Blake then blinked. "But what's it about?"

Dad and Mom shared a glance, he looked at us seriously. "I am going to retire and make you, Skyler, the next alpha of the pack."

I sat there shocked, my eyes wide and mouth agape. My brother also in the same condition. We both looked at Dad in disbelief at what we heard. As the information sunk into our brains, we both grinned widely.

Blake grinning, hugged me. "Wow! Sky, your the next alpha. Congrats Bro!"

I returned the eagerly. "Yeah! Thanks Bro!"

We broke our hug then looked at Dad, who was smiling warmly. "I see that you guys are done."

We grinned sheepishly. Blake asked, tilting his head. "Is it official?"

Dad nodded. "Yes. Later I will announce it to the pack later. Good Luck, I know you can do it Skyler."

I nodded proudly. " Thanks Dad. I'll do my best to protect the pack."

Mom, who watching us with t]a smile, looked at the clock. "Boys you should leave. You have only ten minutes left before your late."

Blake and I cursed, got up and said our goodbyes, as we rushed to my car.

"Safe." Blake said as we entered the school with minutes to spare.

I smiled and shook my head. "See you later Blake."

Blake smiled and waved at me before he left.

I headed to my first class and was greeted by my best friend, Zachary Smith.

He was as tall as me, with curly blond hair, piercing grey eyes, a symmetrical nose, chiseled cheeks, slightly full lips and pale white skin. There were three long yet thin scars, like claws, on his right cheek making him look feral. He was wearing a black turtleneck shirt, thigh jeans and black converse, showing his lithe and muscular form. He was also wearing a single sharp tooth earing at this left ear.

Zachary smirked. "Skyler, Good to see your not late."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah. Dad talked to me this morning with Blake."

Zachary raised his eyebrow, curious. "Oh? What was it about?"

I was trying to shrugged nonchalantly, and waved my hand lazily. hoping he'd buy it. "Nothing important. You'll hear about it anyway at the meeting."

Zachary raised his eyebrow then shrugged. "Alright. We should take our seats, its almost bell."

The bell rang, the students were already seated and the teacher entered the room already checking the attendance. A few minutes later, someone knocked and opened the door. I was suddenly attacked with the most amazing and unforgettable scent. It made my wolf howl inside. I quickly looked at the door and saw an angel.

Her hair was a rich shade of black. It flowed in waves reaching the middle of her back, adorning her porcelain skin. Her eyes, framed by long lashes, were emerald green, that seems endless. A straight nose, full lips and high cheekbones. She was wearing a simple blue hoodie that fitted her, skinny jeans and combat boots, making her curves show. Her cloths were simple yet it fitted her. She smiled tentatively. --- she was the epitome of perfection.

One thought bombarded my head. My mate, I found my mate!

When she introduced herself, her voice was also perfect like herself, soft and melodious yet strong and firm.

Felicia Fay, what a beautiful name. I thought.

Still in my thoughts, I noticed her headed to the seat beside me. I grinned inwardly while my wolf was howling with joy, finding our mate. As she sat down beside us and was trying to ignore us. My wolf and I felt hurt by that action, it feels like I can't breath, my stomach heavy and like I swallowed something bitter.

Then I noticed she was blushing slightly, that without my enhanced visions I would not have spotted it. Relief filled me, and my wolf and I were jumping for joys that she was not ignoring us, nor hate us. I felt like on cloud nine.

Getting a hold of myself, I took a deep breath. I tapped her on her shoulder, she jumped slightly and looked at me, nervously.

I smiled lovingly, conveying my emotions. "Hello, My name's Skyler Hayland. Nice to meet you."

Done...Sorry if its not that good, romance is not really my forte and rarely do I read romance books. I mostly read adventure, actions and fantasy books...So sorry!
