Jason's pov
I pour a cup of coffee and sit at the table, trying to wake up. I breathe in the smell of my coffee, letting a sigh come out. Then I feel my angel kiss my head. "Mornin' darlin'." She walks around and sits down. "Good morning." She's now four months pregnant. Luke wasn't kidding when he said it'll go by faster than ya think! It feels like just yesterday I was holding her hair back from morning sickness. We just sit there in silence drinking coffee and staring at each other. A knock at the door stirs me. "Who's up this early?" She mutters, rubbing sleep from her eyes. I laugh a little. "We are." I say, shrugging. She laughs too. This is not peaking hours for a night working country singer. I open the door and a box sits on the step. "What is it dear?" She asks, walking over. "I guess a wedding present from someone." I bring it in and find the card. "From Carlos. Happy engagement." I don't know anyone named Carlos!? I scratch my head confused. "Darlin' do you know a Carlos?" "Oh yeah he was a friend when we were kids but we haven't talked in a while." She sits at the table and I untie the bow. "Well he's really good at tying bows." I say, getting my switchblade out. I cut the ribbon and unwrap the paper. "Watch out. Carlos was a prankster." She says, pointing. Hm. I back up a little and open the flaps. Suddenly a blue smokescreen fills the room, making us both cough. "What is this?!" I shout, tripping over the chair leg and falling. She coughs hysterically. I try to get up to her but I can't move and feel super lightheaded. She falls over unconscious. "Baby?" I gasp, reaching a hand out to her. Everything fades to black.
*later*
I wake up disoriented and in a dark room, shackled to the wall. I pull on them but I can't break free. "What's going on?! Where am I?!" The door opens, flooding the room with light. I squint in the sudden light. My eyes adjust. A tall dark haired guy with glasses stands in the doorway. "Who the hell are you?" He smiles and walks over. "She was supposed to be mine. I'm the perfect guy! I am perfect for her!" The smile disappears into a rage filled snarl. "She doesn't like the perfect guy! She likes the guy who isn't afraid to take a chance. Who has a wild side but a soft side. You know nothing about her or what she wants. She wants me! Where is she?!" "You won't find her." I grit my teeth enraged. "Let me go! You bastard! What did you do with my wife?!" He walks over and I see my switchblade in his hand. Shit!! I just sharpened the damn thing. "Fuck! Get the hell away from me!" I struggle to pull my hands free from the shackles. "You're dead." He says, grabbing my hair. "Let go of me!" In one swift motion, he draws the knife across my throat. My eyes go wide, horrified. My throat starts bleeding as expected. I bite back a cough. That'll only make it bleed worse. He unshackled me, I press a hand to my throat. "Leave...... My girl..... Alone." I whisper, falling unconscious.
Miranda's pov
I was running through the corridors. Carlos runs by. "How'd you escape?" He cries, shocked and grabbing my arm. I try to pull free. "Where's Jason?!" He smiles. "No need to worry about him, baby." Tears fill my eyes. "You're psychotic!" I yell, kicking him in the nuts. "I'm not a good girl anymore." I growl, running off. I find an open door. "Jason?!" I gasp, running in. I see him slumped against a wall. I scream when I see his throat. "Jason?!" I cry, running to him.

"Wake up! Please wake up!" I hear yelled. I strugglingly open my eyes. I can't see. My stupid vision is blurry. "Jason!" "Who?" I mumble, trying to stay awake. "It's me, Jay. You'll be okay! You've gotta be okay!" "Baby?" "Yeah. It's me." I don't think I'm gonna make it. I shakily lift a hand to her cheek. I feel her hand wrapped around my arm. I have to get her out of here or kill that bastard before I die. "I'll always love you, sweetheart." "I love you too, Jason. Don't give up. Please don't!" "I'm sorry darlin'...... I can't........ Stay awake."
Miranda's pov
His hand falls to the side as his eyes flutter closed. "Jason!!! Think about the baby!!! Wake up!! He or she needs his or her father!" I screech, terrified.
Jason's pov
I hear footsteps then she screams. I have to wake up. "Open your eyes dammit!" I mentally yell at myself. I reach a shaking hand to the pistol at my side. But it's gone. "Lookin' for this, cowboy?" Crap! He's got my gun! "Burn in hell, you psycho." I growl before losing consciousness again.
Miranda's pov
I shakily stand up horrified. "Oh Jason." I whimper in tears. I can't pull my stare away from my cowboy. Carlos grabs my hips from behind. This guy is dead! I spin around, yanking out my 9 mm! I stick it into his stomach and pull the trigger. "What?! When did you use a gun?!" "Since I became a redneck's girl!" I growl, enraged. "I told you. I'm not your typical preacher's daughter. And he knew that." I shoot him in the head and fall down beside Jason after pressing gauze to his wound and calling an ambulance. I fight back the tears and stare at him. "Please baby wake up." I whimper. A hand rests against his chest. I lay down beside him. He unconsciously wraps an arm around my waist. If it's possible to die of a broken heart, I'll be dying right here beside him. "Please be okay." I whisper, kissing his cheek and falling asleep next to him.
