Jason's pov

Me and the guys were goofing around at one of the shows waiting for it to start. Justin tosed a beer my way, I caught it. Then I heard footsteps which distracted me, making me fall on my butt. Everyone laughs. I smile and look up at my darling wife, now six months pregnant. She takes my hat and rests a hand on my head. "I'm gonna get you." I say, grabbing her and pulling her into my lap. She twirls a finger in my hair while we look at each other. "Hey Jay can I sing a song tonight?" "I'd love it if you sang tonight." I kiss her softly, my hand against her stomach. I feel something poking there. His leg, arm maybe. I don't know. "God I can't wait for our son to get here." She smiles and we kiss again.

I finish singing the song I wrote about my princess. "Ok y'all are in for a special treat! My amazingly wonderful preacher's daughter is gonna play! Me and God love ya baby." I say, as she walks out in a long white sequined dress that shines! She winks at me. "Hit it boys!" Fog machine starts up the band starts to play and my jaw drops once again awestruck by the beauty and talent of the woman I love. "He said I've been where ya been before down every hallway's a slammin' door, no way out no one to come and save me, wastin' a life that the good Lord gave me. Then somebody said what I'm sayin' to you opened my eyes and told me the truth. He said just a little faith it'll all get better so I followed that preacher man down to the river and now I'm changed and now I'm stronger. There must be something in the water!" This girl is all about her religion and ain't afraid to tell ya! I just love her. "Well I heard what he said and I went on my way. Didn't think about it for a couple a days, then it hit me like a lightning late one night, I was all outta hope and all outta fight!" I'm shocked to see tears in her eyes. This song must have a special place in her heart. "Couldn't fight back the tears so I fell on my knees saying God if you're there come and rescue me felt love pourin' down from above got washed in the water washed in the blood!" I hold her hand and sing the rest of the song with her.

"That song must mean a lot to you." I say, holding her hand. She nods, looking upset. "Baby girl talk to me. What's wrong?" "That song means a lot to me cause it's what I've done before. Begged for answers and prayed to God for help." What the?! "When you and my dad were still enemies, I didn't know what to do. Follow my heart or follow my father... And then I prayed like you've never seen me pray before. Asking for a sign...... And well seeing you defy my dad when a shotgun was in your face, risking death for the one you loved proved to me what choice. And I've never been more grateful." I'm shocked she said all that. I pull her into a hug. "I'll always love you, honey." "I love you too, Jason. God has blessed me so much." I smile. "You saved this ol sinnin' country boy." We share a kiss then go to bed.

*3 months later*

I can't bear to see her hurting! I just wanna punch something! She screams again as the doctor says to push. Then suddenly all noise stops. Everything freezes and a bright light shines in my face. I shield my eyes from the light. "W-What's going on?" "Please don't be frightened. I am an angel sent to give you a message from his holiness." My jaw drops and my eyes go wide. I fall to my knees. "Rise, great follower." I shakily do completely scared out of my mind. "Your son is going to be one of the wisest prophets of the era. He will bring many to worship. He will save us all." My hands are shaking. "Are you saying m-my son is the Messiah?" I shakily ask, glancing back at my wife. The angel nods. "Look after him. You will be a soldier in the Lord's army." I'm shocked. Me?! Me a soldier?! "Thank you." I shakily say. Then he disappears and I hear the cries of my newborn son. God's son. The doctor hands him to me and he stares up at me quietly, wide eyed. "You're gonna do great things one day." I whisper. "Picked any names?" The doctor asks. What should I name the son of God? Then a name is whispered in my ear as if by the angel himself. Timothy. "I-I'd like to call him Timothy." I say. The doctor nods and I walk over to my wife. She smiles tiredly. "He's gonna be just like daddy I can tell." I smile, a light laugh escaping me. She doesn't know how right she is.
