Chapter 7

Erica

We got in the car and he texted a few people then we headed off. "So how are you already in a band I thought you just got here" she said. He laughed "we moved here at the begining of summer I've been here for like 3 months I just never did anything outside other than go to band practice that's why everyone thinks I'm brand new to town" he said. "Oh" was all I could say and he laughed again. "So what do you play" I asked. "I play everything but in the band I'm the singer" he said smiling. I smiled I can't wait to hear him sing and met his band mates. It was quit the rest of the way but it didnt take us long to get there. We pulled up to a medium sized house and the garage door was open so I could see three guys. One had what looked like a mohawk, the other had really curly hair, and the third one had kind of wavy hair. "Ready" he asked and I nodded. We got out of the car and started towards the garage. "Hey Josh who's this pretty lady" the one with curly hair said and I kind of hid myself behind Josh. "Ian cool it this is Erica she goes to my school. Erica this is Matt Webb, Mike Ayley, and the creepy one is Ian Cassleman" Josh said and I smiled as I waved. "You staying to watch practice" said Matt. I nodded and looked down. I wasn't good around new people but I couldn't help wanting to see Josh in his natural setting with music. "Josh can we talk to you a min" said Matt. He nodded "Erica we'll be right back if you wanna take a seat just make yourself at home" said Josh squeezing my hand. I nodded and took a seat where I was kind of in a corner where no one could see me from outside I didn't want Eric going past and seeing me.

Josh

I seen her sit in a far corner as we went into the house. "What's up guys" I said. "I don't mean to be rude but what's up with her she looks like she's scared to death of us but she just met us" said Matt. "Look I can't tell you everything she's been through its not my place but she is an amazing girl and I vowed to keep her safe once she gets to know you better it'll be fine just give her a chance she doesn't have many people who care" I said. "Ok I just don't want to scare her or anything" said Mike. "Thanks guys now come on I don't want to leave her by herself for to long" I said and we went back to the garage. "Ok let's start with skin and bones" I said as we picked up our instruments. We started playing and I got lost in the music like always. When we finished the song I had tears in my eyes and didnt notice Erica had come out her corner and was just staring at me in what looked like awe. "What was I that bad" I said wiping at my eyes I hated but loved that song. "No you were absolutel..." she got interputed mid sentence when we heard a car squeal to a stop and back up. "You little bitch I knew I'd find you" said Eric comeing toward her. "Eric leave now" I said pulling Erica behind me. As soon as Matt seen this random guy coming after Erica he rushed her into the house. "Keep her in there Matt" I yelled behind me never taking my eyes off Eric as Mike and Ian came to stand beside me. "Josh get out of my way and give me my sister back she has a job to do now" he said.
I looked confused for a second Erica never told me she had a job but I don't trust this fucker. "No your not coming near her again" I said stepping forward. "I'll just deal with her at home" he said smirking. "She no longer lives there. And there is nothing you can do about it because she's 18 leagal age to move out" I said and took another step towards him. I toward over him by at least a foot. "You can't hide her forever I will find her and she will pay for disrespecting me this way" he said as he spit at my feet and turned to leave. Before I could throw a punch at him Mike and Ian grabbed my arms and held me back. "He is not worth it Josh you need to go check on Erica we'll make sure this peice of shit leaves" said Mike. I nodded and went into the house to find Matt and Erica in the kitchen he was trying to calm her down she was having a panic attack. I ran to her and gathered her in my arms and sat down with her in my lap "Erica its ok he's gone he's not going to touch you" I said rocking her back and forth. She finally started to calm down. "Erica please let the rest of us be here for you trust us like you trust Josh we want to help keep you safe" said Matt slowly coming close. Erica looked at him and slowly smiled as she slowly got off my lap and wrapped her arms around him to hug him tight. I couldn't help but smile at this. I think I'm falling for this girl. She let go of Matt and came back over to me. Instead of sitting beside me she sat back on my lap making me smile again as she laid her head on my should and I couldn't help but smile and lay my head on hers just so we were closer.

Matt

Erica is definetly hurting and being hurt by that prick. There is no way I'm letting that go on not with the way Josh looks at her. I don't think I've seen him like this ever. I knew him back in Canada before he moved here and I've never seen him like this. He is definetly falling for this girl and falling hard. He looks at her like she's the only thing in the world to him I'm glad he's happy finally after everything he went through back home he's finally happy. "Josh I'm going to help keep her safe I promise" I said and he smiled and nodded at me. "I'm sorry guys but I think we need to cut practice short today. Eric really shook her up so I'm going to take her home" Josh said. "Wait no you can't not back to that prick" I said. "Dude she doesn't live there anymore she's staying in my guest room. No way in hell was I leaving her there." He said smiling before he stood up with her in his arms smiling down at her as she looked up at him and slightly giggled. "I can walk you know" she said. "Its more fun to carry you though" he said kissing her forhead and she blushed. They were cute together I just don't want either of them to get hurt.
