Chapter 6

Erica

Befor Sara left she let me borrow some clothes until I could go get my own. "So what do you wanna do for now" Josh asked me. Before I could answer my phone started ringing Missy must have grabbed it before we ran out of the house last night. I looked at the screen it was my mom
"Hello"-E
"Erica where are you are you ok did Eric hurt you again"-mom
"I'm fine mom no he didn't get the chance Missy and my mew friend Josh showed up before he could. I'm coming home in a bit to get clothes I can't stay there while Eric is there I'm not safe"-E
"Sweetie no you can't leave I won't let you I can keep you safe"-mom
"You've never done anything about Eric hurting me mom I'm 18 I can leagally leave and you can't stop me I'll be taking my car as well as soon as I'm told Eric is at school I'll be home to get some stuff I'm sorry mom I love you"-E
I was in tears by the time I hung up and I could tell she was to but it was true her and dad never did a thing and they knew what Eric did when they weren't home. All except him getting paid for letting some guy rape me. I can't tell anyone I can't put them in that type of danger. "What happened" asked Josh. "My mom tried to tell me I couldn't leave" I said. He pulled me into a hug and lead us to the living room so we could wait for Sara to text or call.

Josh

We sat down and started to watch tv. I kept my arms around her and she snuggled into my side. I know I justmet her two days ago but this felt right. She fit perfectly into my arms. As the tv went to commercial my phone rang.
"Hello"-J
"Hey Eric is here he's looking for Erica so hurry go get her stuff before he decides to leave"-S
"Ok thanks sis keep an eye on him if he leaves call"-J
"Come on Erica we gotta hurry your brother is there but he's looking for you" I said as we jumped up and ran out to my car. It took us five mins to get there. As I pulled in the drive her mom opened the door. "Hey mom sorry I gotta hurry" she said hurring into the house and up to her room. I stopped at the door to wait for her to make sure if Sara called I was the first thing Eric seen. "So are you Josh" asked her mom. "Yes ma'ma" I said smiling slightly. "Thank you for helping my daughter I know you must think we're terrible parents but the thing is we work a lot and aren't home when it happenes we suspect its Eric but have no proof that it didn't happen at school or something" she said. "Are you serious. The fact that your daughter basically cowers away everytime Eric is near isn't enough proof. I'm going to be there for her and he will never lay a finger on her again not as long as I'm around" I said as she came down the stairs in with two bags and grabbing her car keys off the counter. "Bye mom" she said pushing past her mom and going to the garage. "I'll follow you back to your house in my car" she said. I just nodded and went to my car. I pulled out so she could and couldn't believe the kind of car she had. She pulled out behind me and we headed off. We got back to my house and I opened the garage to let her pull her car in so Eric wouldn't see it.
I hopped out and went to grab her bags. "I'll show you the guest room and don't worry I'll talk to my parents when they get home and they will have no problem with you staying here I promise" I said as we went in the house and up the stairs. "Thank you Josh other than Missy no one has ever cared about me" she said. "Don't mention Erica like I said I think we were suppose to met" I said as I cautiously took her hands in mine. She smiled at me and pulled me close wrapping her arms around my waist and laying her head on my shoulder. I smiled and wrapped my arms around her kissing the top of her head. "So what do you want to do now. Name it and we'll do it your choice" I said looking at her. "Um how bout just laying down and watching a movie" she said. "I'm still a little tired. I never really got much sleep" she looked down and away from me. I put my finger under her chin "Erica while your here no one will ever hurt you do you understand me. You have me, Sara, and my parents will love you" I said and she smiled. We went down to the living room to put in a movie and I called to order pizza cause she needed to eat. She was way to thin but I was not going to tell her that her self esteem was already basically gone. Erica picked a movie and half way through our pizza got her. "Pause it I'll be right back" I said as I went to get the pizza. It a few mins because I took it in the kitchen I got plates out. I headed back in the living room to find Erica curled up sleeping I smiled and set the plates down, and went to pick her up. I had to pick her up bridal style and when I did she snuggled into me with her head in the crook of my neck and I don't know what it was but it felt like electricity ran through my entire body with haveing her that close to me. I took her to her room and laid her down but before I could leave I heard her softly say "please don't go" how was I suppose to turn her down. I think I'm falling for this girl and falling hard I thought as I turned and closed the door. She got under the covers and lifted them up so I could get under with her. As I laid down she layed her head on my chest and I wrapped my arms around her to hold her tight. I laid there thinking how am I going to keep my promise and keep her safe. Maybe I should call mom and dad and talk to them now. I was drawn out of my thoughts as my phone buzzed from a text.
Hey you still coming to practice-M
Shit I forgot about band practice maybe Erica would want to come with me.
Yea give me a bit of time I'll be there as soon as I can-J
I texted Matt back and put my phone away. I gently shook Eric trying to wake her up and she started groaning. "Erica hun I have band practice I forgot about do you want to come with me" I said in her ear. "Your in a band" she questioned sleepily. I laughed "yea I am and practice is about to start" I said. She looked at me and smiled. "Yea I'll go do I have time to change" she said. I nodded as I hugged her and got up. I went to my room and changed quickly. About 5 mins later we were heading out to my car. I texted Sara to let her know and then I texted Matt to say we were headed there. After I put my phone away I took off.
