Astrid's POV

I was in a store with Hiccup trying to find a nice outfit to wear to court.

Yes, court.

I found out a couple days ago that I have to be a witness at a trial for my father, and to be honest, I'm terrified. It will be the first time I see my father in eleven years. Eleven years. I don't even know what he looks like anymore. I have to witness to the fact I'm the only that has even seen him beat my mother. I hated the memories. But I didn't have a choice but to think of them right now while figuring out what to say or what questions they will ask, well having my father about thirty feet away staring at me.

"What about this, Astrid?" I heard snapping from my thoughts and look at Hiccup. He was holding up a black pencil skirt. I smiled.

"Looks nice." I said walking over to him. I took it from his hands. "Now I need a nice shirt or blouse, and a blazer." I told him. I walked over to another rack and started going through the shirts and blouses. I found a nice light blue one and smiled. I picked it up and held it up. I than looked around for a blazer, I decided to go with a black blazer to match with my skirt. I found one and dragged Hiccup to the fitting room area with me. He took a seat on one of the chairs well I changed into the blouse and skirt. I came out to show him.

"So? What do you think?" I asked him. He smiled. I think partly because I noticed afterwards how see through the blouse was. I gave him a smirk.

"I like it." He said. "But where's the blazer?" He asked. I grabbed it and put it on over top and looked at myself in the mirror that was on the front of door to my fitting room. The pencil skirt hugged my body but still looked nice and professional. I took my hair and put it up in a bun for the moment.

"I especially love the shoes." I heard Hiccup say pointing to my dark blue converse I had on. I smiled and laughed a little. "Do you need some shoes too?" He asked.

"I was thinking of just wearing my black heels, but I'm not sure how appropriate that would be for court." I said looking at the prices on the clothing items I had. I sighed adding up the prices and it was well over the $100 I was hoping to spend. I noticed Hiccup got up.

"What size are you?" I heard him ask. I looked at him.

"Size 7." I told him. He walked away and came back a couple minutes later handing me a pair of black flats that had bows on them. I smiled and put them on with the outfit.

"Beautiful!" He said. I looked at him and smiled.

"Yes, but way more than I can afford." I said going back into the fitting room. I started to change back into my own clothes.

"How much?" I heard Hiccup ask. I sighed pulling up my white jeans and buttoning them.

"Altogether, for the skirt, top and blazer it's almost $150, add in the shoes and it's about $180 before taxes." I said putting on my grey tank top and jean jacket. I put my converse back on and walked out carrying the clothing and flats in my hands. "I just wasn't planning on spending almost $200 on one outfit." I told him. We went up to the cashier and I asked her to put them on hold for me. She told me they would hold them up to two weeks.

"Not getting it?" Hiccup asked.

"Not today. I'm gonna wait until my next pay check." I told him. He kissed my head and we left the store. We were about halfway down the hall when Hiccup realized he had forgotten his phone on the chair he had been sitting on.

Author's POV

"I'll be right back." He said. "Stay here." He headed back to the store and found his phone. Hiccup went up to the cashier and asked her to ring the stuff that Astrid had put on hold through and he paid for it. "Can you send it to this address for Friday?" He asked writing his address down. The cashier nodded.

"Of course. She doesn't know you're doing this, does she?" She asked. Hiccup shook his head.
