Astrid's POV

Hiccup and I stayed in the supply closet until we heard no one in the hall anymore. The bell had run for 2nd period to end and it was now lunch time. Hiccup helped me to my feet and I gave him a small smile. He wiped my tears from my eyes.

"Come on, I'm gonna take you home." He said gently. I nodded at him. We left the closet and went to my locker and I got my stuff. We headed out and I didn't even notice until we got to his car that he had been holding my hand the entire time.

We arrived at my apartment building and I found my key. He walked me up to my apartment and I unlocked the door.

"Thank you." I said looking at him. He smiled a little.

"You're welcome." He turned to leave and I grabbed his wrist and he looked at me.

"Can you stay?" I asked. He nodded and came in with me.

My mom wasn't home. Hiccup sat on the couch and I went and showered. Thinking it would help me feel cleaner after what had just happened. I changed into black leggings and an over-sized gray t-shirt, with one sleeve hanging over my shoulder. I put my black rimmed glasses on after taking out my contacts and took a brush and elastic with me to the living room where Hiccup was watching TV. I sat down and had a towel over my shoulder and down the front of my shirt and brushed my hair so I wouldn't soak my shirt. Hiccup was glancing at me once in a while. I kept brushing my hair and once I was done i tied in a lose side braid. I went and put the towel and brush away and grabbed some food from the kitchen and some water for Hiccup and I and went and sat back down. After a minute I laid down and put my head on Hiccup's lap. He didn't seem to mind, I figured this at the fact that he smiled at me when I did it. I smiled back.

"Can I tell you something?" I asked.

"Sure." He said looking at me. He started running his fingers along my braid and twisting it around a little bit. I smiled a little.

"You're my best friend. I've never had one before, but your definitely there." I said. He smiled.

"To be honest. You're like a best friend to me too. I mean we're still getting to know each other. But you're the closest friend I've ever had." He said. I smiled.

"Than let's get to know each other. What's your favorite color?"

"Red and green. You?"

"Light blue."

"Siblings?" He asked.

"Nope. Just me. Unless my dad had kids with some other lady that I don't know about. What about you."

"Just me." He said smiling. "What about relationship with parents?" I frowned at the thought.

"Well, you know my dad was abusive, and we left. I haven't seen him since. My mom and I were close when I was little, because she would protect me. But now. She doesn't really bother. She's almost always drunk. She has a new boyfriend again too." Hiccup frowned a little bit.

"That sucks. My mom left us when I was a baby, and my dad said he hasn't heard from her since."

I looked at him. "Really? I'm sorry." I said. He gave me a small smile.

"It's okay." He said.

There was a knock on the door. I sighed and got up and walked over to it and answered it.

"Are you Astrid Hofferson?" A lady in in a black knee length pencil skirt, a white blouse and black blazer and heels asked me. She had brown eyes and her dark brown hair was pulled back into a bun.

"Yes." I asked confused.

"I'm Lisa Rynolds. I need to ask you some questions about your father." She said holding up an I.D and badge saying she was with the F.B.I. I was a little shocked and looked at Hiccup and back at her.

"Come in." I said letting her into the apartment. I pulled a chair over for her to sit on and I sat back on the couch next to Hiccup.

"Is your mother home?" Lisa asked.

"No. She's not home right now." I said.

"Okay. Astrid, your father is wanted for his arrest, he had court a couple weeks ago and was granted being innocent until we had more evidence or witness' or better. Someone he did hurt from before. I need to know everything your father did to you and your mother."

I was a little surprised when she said my father was wanted for arrest. Without realizing it I grabbed Hiccup's hand that was beside mine and squeezed it. Hiccup could tell I was scared. The memories of my father started flooding through my head.
