Hayley's POV
I woke up to the sound of silence. Something that I wasn't used to. No little taps of his footsteps as he hurries across to the bathroom, no thuds as he trips over his shoes, no little giggles as he talks to Sparky, nothing. He's usually in our bed at this time in the morning, telling us what he dreamt and asking us how we slept. This doesn't feel real. This whole time we've been waiting for a kid just like him and the moment we find happiness and security it gets taken away.
I soon felt Chad's chin rest against my shoulder and his arms around my waist.
"How are ya?" He asked.
I didn't answer him. I didn't need to. He knew how much this was crushing me.
He cuddled into my side and placed light kisses on my neck. "It'll be okay baby, we'll get him back. He's a good kid anyways, they'll monitor him and see that he isn't bad. Then he's ours again."
"He's ours anyway. We're his legal parents," I said as I ran my fingers through his hair. "That lady was such a bitch."
"I know baby."
"I just wanna hold him and tell him it's okay," I sobbed. "He's probably scared out of his mind. He should be here with us."
"Hey, listen to me. There isn't a rule saying that we can't go and see him whenever the fuck we want so we're gonna go see him whenever the fuck we want."
That made me feel a little better. I smiled and we got out of bed to get ready. As I walked along the corridor I trod on some Lego. I gasped and held my foot then looked down at the little blocks that laid on the floor. I picked them up and held them in my hand.
"What's up?" Chad asked.
"I dunno. Maybe the fact that we got our son taken away!" I snapped. I didn't mean to be agressive towards him, there were just so many mixed emotions that I didn't know what to do.
"Don't take this out on me! I'm trying to make you feel better about things and stay positive and all I get in return yelled at!"
"I don't know how to deal with this Chad!"
"Well neither do I but yelling at me isn't the right way to! You're not the only one hurting, Hayley!" He said before storming off.
"Chad wait-" I said, he ignored me and went downstairs.
Great now I feel even crappier than before.
I walked downstairs and hugged Chad. I don't think he was expecting it. At first he just stood there but after a few seconds he hugged me back.
"Fighting isn't gonna get Rider back," I said. "I'm sorry, baby. I love you."
"I love you too babe. Shall we go and visit him soon?"
"Yeah. C'mon let's get ready."
I grabbed Chad's hand and we walked upstairs and back into our room. I threw a t-shirt at him and I took his shirt that I was sleeping in off. I knew he was staring at my boobs and I raised an eyebrow.
"Distracted?" I asked.
"A little," he said before putting his shirt on.
I put on a bra and a tank top along with some ripped skinny jeans and went downstairs.
I poured us each a bowl of cereal and placed the two bowls on the table. Soon Chad came down the stairs and kissed me passionately but I wasn't in the right frame of mind or the mood to be doing this. I pushed his off and said, "I made you breakfast."
He looked at me blankly and gave me a little nod before sitting down and eating. I sat opposite him and ate aswell.
"Don't think that I'm trying to diastance my self from you because of all of this because I'm not. I just don't wanna be all smoochy smoochy when we've just had our son taken away y'know?"
