Chapter 7: "That's what I'm scared of."

We walked down the halls and were met by the door by Domonic. He took one look at Toby and started to laugh.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I growled at him.

"Aww, defending your little boyfriend? I bet you don't know what he was doing."

"Let's just go..." Toby tried to push past him but to no avail.

"What's the rush? What's the excuse this time Toby? Fell down the stairs again?"

What was he talking about? I'm pretty sure I had never seen Toby with a cast before. Well maybe once before we were 'dating'.

"Just leave him alone."

"Oh! And I thought you'd like to know that he was panting your name and pumping himself, but I guess not...You were probably there anyways...." He said trying to walk away but I grabbed his collar and pushed him to the ground.

I had no time to react to what he said but I was positive that I didn't want to see Toby's face right now.

I didn't even see Toby for the rest of the day but I caught him as he was getting into his car.

"Toby!! Wait!" I called after him.

He turned around surprised I wanted to see him.

"I.....forgot to ask you if you wanted to come to a party later."

"Uh..Sure." Toby said with a shy smile.

I walked away awkwardly, wondering how this party will go.

I pulled up to the apartment on the college grounds. How classy. Jade told me she was already there so I should just go on in.

The music was making the walls vibrate and you couldn't walk 2 steps without walking into someone who wasn't either drunk, or dancing on someone else who was probably drunk. Other than that it was a fairly decent party.

I was spotted by Christian and Jade who were talking over by a corner.

"Zayn!" Jade called, waving her hands.

As I got closer, I noticed what she was wearing; a white skirt and a bralet. Since when did she dress like that? In other situations, maybe I would've found her attractive but instead it just didn't look right.

"Hey!!" She hugged me and I tried not to touch her, especially not around Christian.

"Hey." I chuckled.

"So, where's Toby?" Christian said bluntly.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

"He should be here soon." I glanced behind me.

It was as if I spoke it into being because he walked in, in a white muscle t-shirt, black jeans and he had his hands in his pockets.

"Is that him?" A voice asked behind me.

"Yes." I said straight-faced.

The song blaring out of the speakers changed and Christian held Jade's arm.

"Come on Jade, I like this song." He said pulling her away.

I huffed and walked over to Toby. There was an awkward silence between us. I watched Christian and Jade dance. His hands were all over her and I gritted my teeth. He leaned down, whispered into Jade's ear then all of a sudden, her dancing became shy and self-conscious. I growled under my breath thinking of all the possible things he could say to make her uncomfortable. At this moment, he's not making a very good impression.

Jade's POV

Christian leaned down and whispered in my ear.

"Are you sure you should be wearing that?"

I thought he was joking but his eyes were questioning.

"W-Why? Y-You told me to wear this?"

"Yeah... but you kinda have a muffin top."

I could feel my lip quivering. B-But I checked myself in the mirror before I came...I looked down. Maybe I could go on a....diet? I nodded shyly and tried to act normal.

"Just being a good boyfriend, babe."

He must've seen my sudden lack in confidence because he held my chin.

"Don't feel bad, come on, let's go get a drink." He dragged me over to where the owner of the flat apparently hired a bartender.

"Sex on the beach for the lady." He told him.

I looked at him shocked and confused.

"Don't worry, it's just vodka. A scotch for me." He said handing the drink to me.

I scrutinized it but hesitantly put it to my lips, immediately I felt dizzy.

Zayn's POV

I saw Christian pull away Jade and I was tempted to follow them.

"Don't," Toby warned me, "They're probably just going for a drink."

"That's what I'm scared of."

And time! Did I beat 12 o'clock? I hope so ! Guys, Zayn and Perrie are engaged...What were your reactions? I'm really happy for them, but for you Zayn girls out there who are reading this, I understand you'll need some time to adjust but I promise everything will be O.K.
