The second that I stepped foot onto the Dawn Treader I noticed somebody grab ahold of my arm, it was Caspian, he led me up to the top deck in a corner where no one would hear us.
"Look" he started. "I apologize for the way that I had acted last night, I promise you to never act that foolishly again. I just want you to trust me." He finished.
"I don't trust people" I simply stated, showing no meat ion whatsoever on my face.
"I get that, I do, but I'm asking you to trust ME"
"I'm scared to" i began, now being honest.
I heard Caspian let out a sigh while silently thinking.
"Is there anything? Anything at all that I can do to earn your trust?" He asked.
I shrugged, unable to think of an answer at all.
"Why do you try? Why do you even care?" I asked, now finally spilling out those top two questions that have been bugging me for the past two nights.
"Because everybody deserves to be cared about. You were kind to me, so shall I not be kind in return? I try because you remind me of myself, in more ways than one." He finished, looking like he may have said to much.
"Fine, lets talk" i simply stated.
"If I tell you my story will you then trust me? If I can trust you, do you think that maybe you could give me the same trust back?"He asked with a look of hope now visible on his face. He was standing against a wall at the very back of the ship and I right in front. His hair was very messy which was understandable considering today's events.'He still looked nice though' i thought to myself.
I nodded, now answering his question. If he was really going to tell me about his life, it was only fair that I did the same in return.
He began to tell me about himself. His past, present, and even what he had planned for his future. He went into such detail that it amazed me how open he was.
After hearing about his father being murdered by his very own uncle, I knew that nothing I had been through could possibly top that. I also learned about his nurse as a child who was taken away for telling him stories of Narnia and how his uncle hated Caspian his entire life.
I found myself incredibly disgusted after hearing how his uncle had had a son and sent his men after Caspian to have him murdered so that the throne would belong to his son after he passed. 'Kill your own nephew? That's sick" I told myself.
He finished with telling me about how his tutor had saved him before his uncles men came for him that night of the birth and had sent Caspian away along with some money and Queen Susan's magical horn. He met Queens Susan and Lucy and Kings Peter and Edmund soon after blowing the horn when he was almost taken by a dwarf.
"And that is the end really, i believe you know everything that had happened after that" he finished.
I nodded saying "Yes, Queen Lucy has told me the rest" I stated.
I couldn't control myself any longer, I never knew what it was like to be trusted but now that I do, I really like it, it makes me feel worth something. I looked up at Caspian now once more and quickly engulfed him in a tight hug, letting the tears fall down as my hair stuck to the tear stains that were now visible on my cheeks.
I could tell that he was shocked by my sudden movement, but he responded quickly and returned the hug, wrapping his arms tightly around me.
I could feel through the hug that this wasn't easy on him, he may have sounded strong when telling me, but now, with our closeness I could feel him shaking a bit so I began to tighten my grip, only a little, being careful not to hurt him.
