Chapter Four : (Philippa)
It had been an interesting morning. I really dislike the place where I wake up. My aunt's house. It's the same every morning. Wake up, make breakfast, do chores. And the amounts are only small when Aunt Myrtle is in a good mood. Thankfully due to Britani being accepted into a worldwide beauty pageant recently; she had been.
It hadn't always been this way. But Aunt M eventually grew tired of watching over me. She said she never really cared for her sister anyways. And she was the least of my troubles. Britani and Cecilia were much, much worse.
"PHILIPPA GET YOUR LAZY BUTT OUT OF BED!" was the greeting I received this morning. And every one before and after may I add. It's what woke me up every day. But after a while you get used to it.
"Coming Aunt Myrtle!" I replied as I tumbled out of bed and threw an outfit on. I knew I'd have time to find something better later on.
I rushed out of the small miniature house that I lived in. I ran across the backyard and slid the porch door to my Aunt's enormous mansion open. I carefully took my flip-flops off and streaked into the dining room. There I found my aunt drinking a hot cup of coffee. She looked up from the newspapers; her perfectly plucked eyebrow questioning my unperfected entrance. I smiled softly and she only shook her head.
"Britani and Cecilia will be up soon. I hope that by the time THEY'RE up that breakfast will be ready. Wouldn't want them being late for their appointments today now would we?" she asked me in her sickeningly sweet voice.
I shook my head no and headed through some more doors into the kitchen. There I found what we would be having this morning. I mean THEY. As well as my chores for the morning. Thankfully it was only the basics. Taking out the trash and such. I wouldn't have to walk Sophia until the afternoon. I could visit Cameron.
I smiled at the thought if Cameron as I grabbed a pan and began to gather ingredients. Cameron Sylon had been my best friend since we were little, when our parents were both best friends. We lived right across the street, we knew everything about each other, we were as close as two people could be without dating. I had liked Cameron a bit when I was little, however, as I grew older and Cameron started to date. I made a promise. To never love Cameron as more then a friend. To never feel strongly for him. And I don't.
It's not like he'd ever return my feelings anyway, I thought as I peered at my reflection in a silver pot hanging above the stove. What's to like about a medium height red-head with a freckly face, and barely any curves? I asked myself. Nothing. Was the only thing I got.
Soon enough the breakfast was prepared and I managed to get it onto plates and ready for Aunt M, Britani, and Cecilia just as they came down the stairs. Aunt M nodded, as if she approved of me. This time. Britani and Cecilia were squabbling, as usual.
"I don't get it! Why do you get to London and not me?"
"Silly! I'm in a worldwide beauty pageant! And you are not. But Mom's brining you along anyway. Can't leave you here with Phil the freak now can we?" Britani replied to Cecilia.
Calling me that stupid nickname they had given me since I first came to their house. Not that I really cared anyway. What I'd really like to do most of the time is strangle all three of them. Unfortunately that's not legal here in L.A. California.
I walked over to the pantry and grabbed a box of cereal as they continued to chat aimlessly about various subjects of which I had no interest. I ate silently as they munched on the gourmet meal I had prepared for them. It was just the usual Saturday morning for me. Did it really bother me?
Nope.
I watched as they walked out of the house and nearly itched as they took their sweet time getting into the car. Finally they pulled out of the driveway and I ran upstairs to get changed. Slipping out of the ratty T-shirt and shorts I shifted my clothes around and found my orange layered top. Putting that on I looked for my favorite pair of skinny jeans and smiled when I discovered them by my charcoal grey cardigan sweater.
I grabbed both items of clothing and practically jumped into them. Soon enough I was slipping on my black flats studded out in fake jewels. And then I was off.

I loved walking through the park in the Autumn. The colors were just absolutely beautiful. The oranges changed from hue to hue and the reds and yellows complimented anything else. Some clusters of trees even had purple leaves preparing to fall from their spots on the twisted branches of the trees. There weren't too many people out here today and that made me slightly sad. The people that came here were always so nice.
I looked around and saw a girl not to far away from me. She looked up at the sky and began to walk away. Suddenly something fell onto the ground. As I walked over to it I realized that it was in fact a bracelet. I guessed that it was the girl's so I picked it up and rushed after her. I didn't know her but the bracelet looked expensive. I knew I wouldn't want to loose it. She looked surprised when I handed it to her. But she nodded her thanks before she continued on her way.
I smiled as a fresh breeze blew through the trees. I took out my phone and texted Cameron telling him I was on my way.
Hello. My name is Phillipa Mason.
