I woke up in this horrid place that smelt like dead animals. I got up and looked around. Yes, it was very small, but big enough for a litter a kittens. It was three fence walls and a fence gate in front leading to other cages. I immediately knew where I was. The pound.
I don't know how I got into this place, but I don't know how I will get out. I'd like to escape, but that seems really hard because there are no gaps. In fact, there is a roof overtop of all of the other cages. All the cages we're so close to each other, that we had to share walls. Next to me was three little baby kittens. They were all a cream color. Heh, cute. And on the other side of me was another cat. It was a black cat. This may not be so bad!
The next thing I knew, three people walked down the aisle of cages. They were coming in my direction. There were two females and a male. One female was a pretty blonde that was holding a Labrador. Her hair was long and she wore a uniform. She must be the owner. The other lady next to the blonde had short brown hair and wore a teal sweatshirt with a golden necklace. The male was wearing the same outfit as the blonde, and he had short shaggy black hair and wore glasses. Huh.
The two workers talked to the lady as they headed my way. The customer caught a glimpse at my turquoise and jade fur and gasped. I jumped back. What was she thinking? Did I stand out because of my wings? She rushed over to my cage and told the owner something I couldn't understand. My mother told me that I was unique because of my fur.
The man opened the cage door and picked me up. I did not like being picked up by strangers. He asked the lady a few questions and then he handed the other worker a cage, but it was miniature. Then he opened the little cage door and put me in. Oh great. An even smaller cage. The female worker carried me to this room where the man and the woman followed behind. She put me down on a table and gave the other lady some papers. The customer filled out the paper and picked my cage up. She walked out of the small building and went over to this long white car.
She opened the back door and put me in gently and told me "You're going to have a new home, young one." She was very kind to me. She pushed my cage to the other side of the seat and sat down next to me and closed the door.
