Salt told me everything I needed to know. I managed to squeeze every little piece of info out of him. And when he wouldn't listen... Let's just say things didn't end well...
Salt and I walked side by side in silence heading in Sun's direction. I broke the silence. "So, are you really related to Pepper and the rest of Princess' kittens?" I ponder. "Yes, I am the son or princess, and so is pepper and the rest of the litter."
I look up at the trees in boredom. "Have you actually met Pepper?" I glance at him. He looks down. "Kinda.. When we were a few days old." Huh.
I look around before spreading my wings. "Hey, what are you-" Salt begun. I took off without hesitating "HEY WAIT!! YOU'RE STILL MY PRISONER!! GET BACK DOWN HERE!!" He barked for minutes, and then garb up. I flew up above the trees to see how far away the location was. We needed to go to an abandoned farm.
I could not see the barn in the distance. "Are you sure we are going in right direction?" I look down and yell from above. "Yes! I go this was many many times! Now get back down here!" He yells back. I smile. "Only if you say please!" I can see him look down in anger and he sighs. "Please?"
I glide down and land next to him. "You're cute when you beg." I snort. "Stop teasing me." He looks forward with a dead look on his face. "Ok." I reply.
I hear something up in the trees and see a flock of birds "Woah... Pretty... " I look back at him "How big is this place??" "Pretty big. We are I the middle of an area that hasn't been claimed by humans yet."
I start getting tired. I look for the location of the sun in the sky. It's almost at a sunset. "We should-" before I could finish, I was inturrupted with "Do you ever stop talking?!?" He yelled in anger. I knew he wasn't happy about this trip, but damn.
I could see him tear up "We wouldn't be in this mess if you didnt ever get in my mothers life!" He shouted so loud, all the creatures nearby flew away. "This is all your fault!" He broke into tears. I stood back in suprise. "My... My fault?" I lower my ears.
"Yes!" He yelled. "My mother wouldn't of abandoned me as a newborn if you didn't ever move in with her!" He was sobbing now. He stopped and stared at the ground. "I..." He just looked at the ground with tears still flowing, but no noise coming out of him.
He looks at me for a second and then sprints back the way we came. "Wait! Salt!" I quickly chased him. I could hear him crying as he ran. He made a sharp turn into some bushes. After I made that turn and went through the bushes, he was gone. No crunching of leaves, no scent, no sobbing, nothing.
I stop in my tracks and stay very still. "Salt...?" I call for him. . . . No answer. I call again. Still no answer. I sigh and turn around to go back the way I was leaded. What did he mean by abandonded? I though he was taken with Princess? As questions burned through my mind, I kept on walking.
