               *Maddie's POV*

I'm sorta scared for Carley. She isn't answering my texts except for "I'm fine." And I really wanna go over and check on her. But I know that if she didn't want me to check on her, she would do this stuff. I'm gonna call her, I looked at the time and it was 9:30PM, hopefully she's still awake. "Hello?" She answered.

"Hi Carley, it's Maddie."

"Hi Maddie, don't worry about me, I'm fine, just a bit flustered."

"But, I want to--"

"I know you want to help me, but I don't need it," she cut me off and hung up. Someone must've gotten punched in the face by Mother Nature. Then again, Carley probably would've hit Mother Nature back......

I was pacing back and forth when it dawned upon me, the sixteenth birthday thing. That's why Carley is acting strange! I went on google and searched all that I could about the 'change'. It said that she was gonna go through the change at 11:59 and that it could hurt the people she loves. It's so weird, I mean, I have 3 powers and I turned 16 a couple of months ago and nothing happened. Maybe it's only physical powers...whatever. I'm going over to her house, I don't care if I get hurt. She needs me.

I got to their house and saw her parents pacing. I looked at the time, it was 11:30. "What's wrong?" I asked her parents. "She locked herself in her room and won't let us in," her mom answered. "Let me see if she'll let me in." And with that, I went upstairs. I knocked on her door and she screamed, "Go away!" It sounded like she had been crying, and then I heard a crash. It must've been her throwing something at the door. I used my telekinesis to unlock her door, but it still wouldn't budge. She must've put something in front of it. I moved whatever it was out of the way, and walked inside. She was sitting in the corner sobbing. I looked at the clock, it was 11:58.

It was midnight and nothing had happened yet. She got up and out of frustration, crushed her clock. All of a sudden she started screaming and she flipped her dresser, and then her bed. She hurled her lamp at me, and I cowered, expecting to feel the pressure, but nothing came. I looked up, and saw shimmering blue all around me. It's a force field.

I guess that's what happened on my sixteenth.
