 *Maddie's POV*

Today is Monday and I was excited. Carley and I planned to welcome the "new guys" and hang out with them. Who knows? Maybe they're cute. Fingers crossed.

When Carley and I got to first period, there was a bunch of buzz from our classmates. "I'm guessing they're here," Carley whispered. I nodded and sat down in my seat. Just a minute after I sat down, the teacher, Mrs. Jones,  called Carley and I up to her desk. My first thought was that we were in trouble, but I shook it off. "The principal would like to see you guys," Mrs. Jones said, "don't worry, you're not in trouble." I was relieved, but we packed up our stuff and headed to the principal's office.  "What do you think this is all about," Carley asked me. I shrugged. "I don't know, maybe we have to switch classes?" I suggested, although it was highly unlikely. Our school never changes people's classes unless its absolutely necessary. Not important.

Anyway, when we got to the door of the office, we knocked and heard a "Come in," from Principal  Rockmeyer. We walked in and saw 5 guys with their backs to us, talking to the principal. "Hello, girls," she greeted. "Hi," we both returned at the same time. "You're probably wondering why I called you both up here," she said, we nodded, "and I'm about to tell you, but first, meet Louis, Niall, Harry, Zayn, and Liam," she finished, pointing to each of the 5 boys as she said their names. "Hi! I'm Carley!" She greeted, "and this is Maddie, she's a bit shy." Thank goodness. Carley to the rescue again.

I finally shook off my shy-shock and greeted them myself with a nod and shook their hands. "You girls have all the same classes as these boys, so I would like you to show them around, be kind of their welcoming committee," Principal Rockmeyer explained. "Ok! That'll be fun!" Carley explained. The one with suspenders, Louis I believe, laughed at Carley's enthusiasm. I saw Harry, the one with thick glasses and slicked back hair, looking at Carley with a wanting look in his eyes. Ew, gross. But on a completely different note, they were all really cute. In a geeky way. They all had braces besides Louis and Harry. Harry, Zayn, and Liam had glasses. Niall seemed sort of shy, but Louis just jumped right out asking us if we liked any superheroes. I laughed and Zayn asked, "Why are you laughing?" "Because we all have powers, so technically we are superheroes in a way. And Captain America." I explained and heard Louis whoop. He raised his hand for a high-five, but my shyness took over once again and I just stepped behind Carley, blushing madly. "Wow, guys. I'm impressed, you got her talking more than she does on a normal day. And mine's Iron Man" Carley stated, whistling jokingly. We all laughed at my expense and the principal cut in, "ok, well. Go out into the hallway, the bell is about to ring." We all walked out laughing and smiling. "Mine's Superman," Louis whispered to me after a bit of walking.

I warmed up to them quickly and we talked about our powers. Harry's was strength, Niall's was telekinesis, Louis' was mind controlling, Liam's was healing, and Zayn's was hypnotizing. I thought it was cool that Harry and Carley's powers were mutual. Except the fact that Carley has 2 instead. They seem to like each other, a lot. We had so much fun in between classes and at lunch. By the end of the day, we swapped numbers and promised to text each other as soon as we got home.

Carley went to her house because her parents wouldn't let her come over for some unknown reason. I tried texting her but she didn't text back. I thought to myself 'this was odd Carley always answers my text messages'. It had been at least an hour and a half before she finally answered my text with 'hey sorry I was on my computer and didn't hear my phone buzz.'

I picked up the phone and called her knowing it would just be easier.

"Hello?" I heard Carley say after about three rings. "Hey what's up?" I asked trying to start a conversation. "Just looking things up on the computer," Carley said. "What kind of things?" I asked wondering what she had spent over an hour looking up. "I-erm- I gotta go." and with that she hung up the phone.
