"I love you, you do know that, right?" he asked, leaning down a bit so he was at her eye level.
"Of course I knew that, daddy," Ginger replied matter-of-factly. "I love you too!"
Draco smiled. "So will you go to bed now?" The moonlight streaming in from the living room window danced upon his Malfoy-pale face as he spoke.
"But I don't want to!" Ginger moaned. She crossed her tiny arms and leaned on her hip.
A female voice from upstairs called, "You're going to bed right now if you want to go back to Hogwarts in a few days!"
Ginger immediately kissed her dad on the cheek and ran up to her bedroom. There was no way she wasn't going back to school!
She had been at home for the last few days of Christmas break. She was really glad to see her parents now, despite how she had dreaded coming home just a month ago.
Ginger jumped up onto her silver bed and tried to get comfortable. She stared at her ceiling for a while and found that she just couldn't sleep. Why was it that she could never sleep? Ginger had no idea. Ginger turned her lamp on for some late-night studying. She had a History of Magic essay due, and although she was almost done, she felt compelled to work on it a bit more. As she worked, she didn't once think about the conversation her parents might be having in the next room.

"So you're absolutely sure?" Draco asked, raising a platinum-blonde eyebrow.
"Yes, definitely," Ginny replied, rolling her eyes at his skepticism.
"Did it really have to be the same time as Weaselbee and Granger?" he groaned sarcastically.
"Oh, you just shut it, Malfoy," Ginny said, her anger showing in her scarlet-tinted face.
"I'm just kidding, Gin. This is great," he said, no longer using a sarcastic tone.
"It better be.." Ginny muttered, curling up against his chest and preparing to go to bed.
"So, um, when are we going to tell Ginger?"
"Never!" Ginny threw her hands up in the air, jumping out of her comfortable position. "We'll just hide it from her forever! Ginger will come home from school in the summer and we'll just put it in the closet!"
Draco rolled his eyes and began running his fingers through Ginny's red hair, easing her back into the position she had been in a moment before. "No, I'm serious. Tomorrow? In a letter next week? When?"
"Um," Ginny thought. "How about tomorrow at breakfast? Let's just hope she doesn't choke."
"Yeah," Draco was musing. "So...another Malfoy. This family is gonna get sexier than it already is."
"Yes, excellent, another grey-eyed wonder running around my house. That's just what I needed. I already have two of you people to slave over as it is."
"I'm sorry," Draco put his hands up mock-guiltily and tried to hide his grin. "We Malfoys are high-maintenance."
Ginny cracked a smile and poked him in the leg. "You got that straight," she whispered as he pulled her into a deep kiss.

Ginger heard her parents laughing and almost gagged. She put her book and parchment away and returned to staring at the ceiling. Who can focus with your parents in the next room giggling like schoolgirls? She assumed they were flirting and snogging each other, as usual. Their behavior sickened her sometimes.
Ginger had no idea that in addition to the normal routine, they were discussing something new. An addition to the house of Malfoy. The one thing Ginger wanted more than anything.
