Chapter 3

Violet's POV

When I saw Jasmine walk up to the hot guy, my heart lurched and I turned away, refusing to look at the scene unfold. Until I heard the hot guy insult her. Then, I giggled quietly to myself and Jade had stared at me like I was crazy. I had dared her to question me but she had shrugged and turned away.

The Chemistry teacher walks in, just as Jasmine sashays away from the hot guy. I still don't know what's his name.

Wait what? Why do I want to know his name?

I shake my head and look up, focusing on the teacher, Mr Smith.

"Good morning class. There is a new student today but I will not introduce him for you. Be friendly yourselves. Anyway, as you all know, the first thing a teacher gives to his students on the first day of school is... assignments." Mr Smith grins when the whole class groans. "And this particular assignment will be due in 3 months, as it counts to 40% of your final grade. Now before you ask, I will choose your lab partners."

"Jade Hall with Brady Wilson"

Jade and Brady raise their hands and look at each other.

"Noah Jones with Jasmine Evans"

Noah and Jasmine raise their hands tentatively while Noah glares at Jasmine. Good, he must know how much of a bitch Jasmine is.

"Joshua Parker with Violet Mitchell"

I raise my hand and look around. My jaw drops as Joshua Parker raises his hand, smirking at me. Mr Smith continues reading out names while I barely register anything he says.

The hot guys is Joshua Parker.

And Joshua Parker is my lab partner.

Joshua's POV

Violet's reaction when she heard my name with hers had been hilarious.

Violet, though, is such a beautiful name.

Did I really just think that? Shut up, Joshua.

I swear I saw her jaw drop and her glasses slide down her nose. She covers her reaction up quickly and turn back to her textbook.

I lean back against my seat and grin to myself. I am going to understand why she dresses so weirdly and why she would cover up the fact that she is attracted to me.

"Violet Mitchell. Violet." I whisper, smiling.

After Mr Smith finishes with the lab partnering, all of us switch seats and now I am sitting beside Violet.

From the corner of my eye, I could see her glancing at me momentarily. She finally sees me catch her doing that and she blushes, looking down.

Oh, her blush is so cute.

Stop thinking about her!

I instantly put on a frown.
