Joshua's POV

The whole day of school was so boring. Smirking at Violet is officially my new hobby. As I watch her, I realise that no one else notices her. Maybe because she's just a nerd.

But then again, why did I notice her?

Her fashion sense is unique. It could either make her stand out or she could just blend in.

"Brady, have you ever noticed Violet Mitchell?" I ask during lunch, sitting down with him, Lucas who's another guy I met and Noah who is Jade Hall's boyfriend. "Who's Violet Mitchell? Is she hot? Introduce me, man!" Lucas butts in, leaning in, looking interested. I ignore him and ask Brady again. "Dude, I don't know who that is either," Brady says, looking at some hot girl distractedly, "Why?"

"No reason," I say, shrugging. So absolutely no one notices her? "I know who Violet Mitchell is. She's Jade's best friend, but she doesn't talk much," Noah says as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

I smirk as I remember how Violet was like during Chemistry. "Do you like her or something?" Noah asks casually, biting his apple. "Her? Violet? No, dude. She's not hot," I raise an eyebrow, "It's just that she's my lab partner and she's a nerd but she came up with a pretty cool idea for our assignment."

I wait for a response but the rest of the guys ignore me, occupying themselves with other things.

I'm sure my brain went "..."

Great friends.

Violet's POV

Jade runs toward me, panting. After catching her breath, she asks, "Violet! Do you want a lift home?" I laugh while patting her back, and say, "Jade, remember I told you I'm going to Joshua's house for the assignment?" I gulp nervously and her eyes widen while she says "Oh right! Oops I forgot!! It's gonna be fine, he likes you anyway. Have fun!!!!" I nod, my mouth suddenly dry. "And tell me everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, tomorrow okay? Bye!!" Jade yells as she sprints away to her car.

Why am I so nervous?

Ignoring my heart pumping against my chest, I plug in my earphones and sling my bag over my right shoulder. I take in a deep breath and start walking towards the address that Joshua sent me.
