I was in Wulf's office faster than I ever thought possible. And standing there, in dark wash jeans, steel toes boots, a black tee shirt, and a leather jacket, was Marcus. He stood up from his chair when he saw me, and I saw his eyes widen. His hazel eyes searched mine, and the familiar smirk grew on his face.
"If it isn't my little ray of sunshine."
My eye teared up, and I ran forward, throwing my arms around his neck. He lifted me in the air and spun me around. My yellow dress flapped around me, and I faintly hoped it didn't show my panties.
When he put me down, I smacked him in the arm, chest, stomach, and head repeatedly. I knew he wouldn't hit me back, so he just laughed and took the hits.
"You idiot!" I cry, then bring my fist to my eyes to rub the tears away, "Where have you been?"
He chuckles, "Hey, don't cry." He grins at me, "Sunshine isn't supposed to cry, sunshine." I roll my bloodshot eyes at his lame way of trying to calm me down, but it worked. I stopped crying. "I've been here and there. Turns out my pops is a rouge, so I kind've shifted when I turned thirteen." He grins at me, then his face grows serious "Now, I know something happened with your father, I just don't know what. You need to tell me, sunshine."
I look at Wulf, who had been watching the entire exchange quietly. When he sees me looking at him, he enters my mind.
'Should I be worried?'
I roll my eyes, 'No. He's like my brother.'
'Do you trust him?'
'Yes.'
'Then tell him, Prinzessin.'
And I do. Then the next thing I know he's throwing a chair out of Wulf's glass door, "I'LL KILL HIM!"
"Too late." Wulf rumbles, "That's my job."
Marcus turns to Wulf, the deviant gleam in his eye, "She's-"
"Mine." Wulf growls, glaring at him, "She's my mate. I'll be killing this asshole." Marcus blanches, then looks at me in question. I grin, and move my hair from on my neck, to show him Wulf's mark. He stares at it for a second, before he tackles me to the ground like a line backer.
"Ah!" I yell in surprise, and Wulf chuckles as Marcus starts cooing me like the idiot he is.
"My little ray of sunshine is growing into a sun rise!" He yells happily, and wipes an imaginary tear away, "I want to be invited to the Mate Ceremony."
Camelle had also explained this. A Mate Ceremony was like a wedding for wolves, only instead of a priest, it was done by the Alpha. I don't know how we'd have one, considering Wulf was the Alpha, but I defiantly wanted to have one. It sounds so romantic and cheesy, and I love romantic and cheesy.
I laugh, "I'll invite you as a waiter if you don't get off of me!"
He chuckles, then stands up and helps me up. He grins at me, the turns to Wulf, "Alright. I've got information on Jonathon."
Wulf straightens, turning serious. I lean on his desk, and Wulf grabs my hand with his. Marcus sits down on the couch in front of Wulf's desk silently, and looks to be collecting his thoughts before he begins.
"When I left after my change, I wasn't expecting that basturd to do any of that. I was expecting your mother to see the light and finally leave him, even if they were mates. But, just last year, I was contacted by your aunt, Sunshine. She told me I needed to find you before your father did.
"She told me it was a must if I wanted you to live. So I tracked down Jonathon first, and got on the inside. Don't ask me how, but I knew you'd be safe for a while. When I got on the inside, your idiot of a father didn't even notice it was me. Not when I even used my real name and everything. I eventually got close to him." He looks up at me, "Sunshine, he doesn't plan on just killing you. With what he's planning, that would be a blessing."
