||::Adalwulf's Point of View::||

Something's wrong.

I blink, holding up a finger for Marcus to be quiet. He gives me a confused look, but stays silent.

What do you mean, something's wrong? A sudden feeling of panic and helplessness sets in. It's so intense, I have to close my eyes. Her face flashes through my mind.

Big hazel eyes, normally so sweet and kind, terrified and scared, with her normally smiling lips studdering out words that she just can't seem to get out because she's quaking where she stands.

I stand up, and snarl aloud. Marcus jumps back, "Whoa! Chill dude!"

"Something's wrong." I repeat my Wolf's words, "Ariel is in trouble."

His expression hardens, "What?"

Ramon takes a step forward, his worry clear on his face. A probing at my mind makes me snap out of my shock, and into action.

Report.

Alpha. Camelle's voice jumps around in my head, We were attacked.

Get in here, Camelle. And hurry.

Yes Alpha.

Mintues later, Camelle comes through the doors that lead into my office, but instead of looking how I'd last seen her, her lip is busted, her nose is crooked, her eye is black, and she's got several cuts and bruises all over her body. She was also walking with a limp, and I note with urgency that her right leg was broken.

My normally impassive Wolf whimpers, If they did that to a Beta wolf, think about what they can do to our Mate!

Ramon shoots forward, and gathers his mate into his arms with worry written all over his face. I walk forward, and kneel before my Beta, "Where is she?"

Camelle's eyes fill with tears, and I have my answer. A snarl leaves my mouth as my Wolf starts to thrash against the walls of my mind, wanting to get out and hunt down our mate, then kill the man who took her savagely. I hold him back though, and lean on my palms against my desk.

"What happened?" Marcus' voice cuts through my inner turmoil, and although I absolutely despise it when someone takes control, I'm glad he does it this time.

"We were in the kitchen." Her voice says, regret and worry lacing through her voice, "She was talking and laughing with us when a woman came. She said she was searching for her daughter."

"And Ariel being who she is, offered to help her, didn't she?" Marcus says, complete understanding in his voice. I turn around to see him rubbing his temples, he was muddering under his breath, "That stupid, selfless girl."

"What happened next?" I ask, my Command slipping through by accident, but in my worry for my mate, I didn't care.

Camelle straightens, the Command taking hold, "So I helped her convice Jake to let us help the woman. I knew she would go whether we agreed or not, so we compromised: as long as we were in before sun down, it was fine. I figured it wouldn't hurt anything, we were just looking for a little girl." Ramon hugs her tighter to him, and she whimpers pathetically before continuing.

"So we all went and looked. We didn't find the girl, and by the time it was time for us to go inside, we were ambushed. They snatched us through the trees, and we didn't even know they were there. They shot us with wolfsbane, and we couldn't move. We listened to it all. It was Jonathon. Her father."

I feel my body tense, and my Wolf snarls furiously. He begins to throw himself at my mental walls, and before I know it, I Shift. I stand infront of my two pack members and Ariel's friend as a huge black wolf.

Continue. I say through the Link.

"He scared her... so much." A tear runs down her face, "Then he knocked her out. They beat us and told us to tell you something." Her dark green eyes meet my black ones, "They said that you'd never find her- not before it was too late. Then they knocked us out, and we woke up by the line of the Pack Village. I made some men help Jake go to the Pack Doctor; he was bleeding heavily and both of his arms were broken. I came here a fast as I could to inform you. When you told me to come find you, I was already half way here."

I Shift back after calming my Wolf down, and slip on a pair of shorts.

Find her! My Wolf yells, throwing hisself against my walls to try to get out again, We need to find her! I swear if he fucking touches her-

I know. I tell him gruffly, Me too. A million tiny pieces, and then I'm going to burn the pieces, and rip apart everyone under him.

"What do we need to do, Alpha?" Camelle asks, "I want to help." The self-loathing was burn bright in her eyes. She blamed herself. I'd normally blame her too; she was my Mates' gaurd, and she should be held liable, but I couldn't bring my self to blame her. I knew Ariel wouldn't want that, and if I'm honest, I didn't think it was her fault.

I kneel infront of Camelle, "It isn't your fault." I turn to Ramon, "Take her to the infirmary, then come back and help me. We're finding Prinzessin."

Ramon nods once, then sprints out of the room with his unconscious mate in his arms.

Precisely, fifteen mintues later(I counted) my troubled Beta walks through the door. The first thing I notice about him is that every muscle in his body is tense, and his normally brown eyes are a pitch black. So he was just as furious as he was.

"Alpha," Ramon says, all of his normal playfulness leaving his tone, "Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm going to find whoever took my mate, and tear them apart with my teeth. Then I'm going to find the person who hurt my best friend, and I'm going to kill them too."

"How is Jake?" I felt the need to ask.

Ramon gives me a indecisive smile, "I'm not sure how I feel about this yet, but they said he's going to heal before Camelle does."

I nod, and look back up at Ramon, "We're going to need help. Get Alex on the phone. I want to talk to him." Ramon nods once, before turning on his heel and walking out of my office.

After calling Alex, he got here quicker than I'd ever thought he would. His normally playful aura was completely wiped out in a monstrous power that could only belong to an Alpha. His Wolf was pissed. His step mother was trailing behind him with a floor gown, running forward and throwing her arms around me.

I hugged her quickly, before letting her go and beginning to explain exactly who the hell Ariel's father was.

Alex was snarling at nothing in particular; he was always over protective of any woman, that's why my Wolf didn't get angry. He was actually swelling with gratitude and pride that our friend would care so much about what happened to our mate.

Ana was sitting completely still, her red eyes fixated on the wall above my head. Her gaze flickers to mine, "This little girl-"

"Ariel." I say softly, even at a trying time like this, her name tingled on my tongue. It felt so perfect for my mouth; like it was the only name I was ever meant to utter.

"Ariel." Ana says, "How old is she?"

"Nineteen." I whisper, feeling the dread fill me. I was sitting at my desk, and I put my head in my hands, "She's still just a teenager, Ana. A baby. Yet, she- He-"

"It's alright Wulf." Ana says, reminding me so much of my mother with that kind look she was giving me, "I know. We'll find her. But I'll need something of hers. Something that has value to her. Anything." Ana puts a hand over her heart, a delicate look on her face, "Something that she'd kill to keep."

I get a sense of helplessness, before my mind snaps onto one object- the teddy bear. That worn out, brown teddy bear.

I sprint up the stares, grab the bear, and I'm back downstairs quicker than I've ever been. I hold that teddy bear that I'd once thought pathetic, like it was a life line, and I could even still hear her when she told me the story of this thing...

[One Week Ago]

"Hey Wulf." She says, sitting on the edge of her bed. Her wild curls were down, and I watched as they swept the neck of her guitar. Her hazel eyes watch me, and I feel a smile on my face as that innocent smile is flashed at me.

"Prinzessin." I incline my head, if only to tease her. She acted like that name embarrassed her, but she blushed every time I called her it.

On queue, her pale cheeks turn a rosy color, "Nennen Sie mich nicht, dass!" She pronounced each word perfectly, and I felt a rush of pride that she'd learned that from a book that Jake had bought her in town.

I chuckle, "Prinzessin, I will never stop calling you that, so stop asking, and ordering." She huffs, but stays quiet. I grin, and walk over to her, instinctively placing a kiss on her forehead before trying to sit down.

"Wait!" Her shriek came, and I froze. She snaps something up from under me, then grins at me, "Go ahead."

I sit, and see the brown bear grasped between her hands. Eyeing the little bear, I reach for it, indicating she lets me see it for a minute. She hesitates, before handing me the bear gently. I take it, and study it.

Both of its eyes were missing, it looked like its arms and legs had been resewed on, and it was missing an ear, so the spot was sewed closed.

"Do you want a new one?" I ask, looking at the thing still, "We could throw this away, and get-"

"No!" She suddenly yells, and snatches the bear back from me. I look up surprised to see tears in her big hazel eyes, "Please don't."

I shake my head, "No, Prinzessin. I was just suggesting..." I trail off, not able to find the words while my little mate was staring at me with silent tears running down her face. I sigh, and tug her into my lap. Her shoulders shook while she quietly sobbed into my chest, and I felt a deep pang in my chest that came with seeing her cry.

After she finally stops that poisonous crying, she looks up a me with red tinted eyes, "I'm sorry. I've ruined your shirt, Wulf."

The familiar tingle of hearing those perfect lips say my name made me give her a sad smile, "It's my fault." Eyeing the bear, I add, "But I would like to know what is so special about that bear, Prinzessin."

She giggles, "I've never told you?" At the shaking of my head, she lapses into the story.

"When I was a kid, before Jonathon began anything, my grandmother and my mom used to take me out everyday to go to the park. One day, we found this plastic heart. It was red and said, 'Ich werde kämpfen .' And the only reason I know how to say that is because of your aunt, Wulf. She said it means-"

"I will fight." I say quietly, "Was it on a black ribbon?"

She nods, "You aunt also told me that your father used to have one like that when he was still alive. At first, I thought I should give it back to you, but-" she bites her lip, and looks away cutely.

I can't bear to part with it... her thoughts bounce around in my head warmly, and I smirk at her.

"It's alright, Prinzessin." I say, her pet name rolling off of my tongue as easily as someone would say 'cute.'

She smiles up at me, her cheeks a delicate shade of red, "So this song is called..."

[Present Day]

Without a lick of hesitation, I rip the bear in half. Ana makes a noise of surprise, but raises her eyebrows when I hand her the red heart. She looks up at me, "This was your fathers."

"I know," I say, and clutch the little trinket in my hand, "She found it in a park when she was younger, and has kept it all her life. It's one of the only personal items she's ever told me about really. It was in that bear for safe keeping."

Ana nods, and takes it from me, "This is perfect. I can almost literally feel her essence radiating from the thing." She turns and walks toward her make shift alter, to begin the tracking spell.

I couldn't help but think that maybe, it wasn't so much her essence, but my father. Maybe he was trying to help me find my mate.

I'm going to find her dad, I think, feeling a little foolish as I did, but not able to keep the thought from coming. I just need a little help.

"I found her!"

I completely changed this chapter. I erased the entire thing, and rewrote it. I hope this is helping people get the gaps in the plot, though.

Did you like it? I had to take a months' break from writing do to school, but I'm getting in the swing of things. Tell me what you think! I love comments.
