I awoke to the smell of nature and the sun beaming down on my tent. I also smelled delicious bacon and my stomach started yelling at me fiercely.
I opened my tent and let out a huge stretch before exiting. Katie and Andrew was standing around our pop out table placing breakfast and condiments on it.
"Good morning." I smiled and picked up a piece of bacon and popped it in my mouth. "Wow this bacon tastes amazing." I said.
"Thanks." Smiled Andrew.
"Who knew he could be such a good cook right?" Katie smiled while playfully bumping his arm.
"I learned from my uncle. He passed away last year but he went to culinary school and he made the best food." Andrew explained.
"Awe." Katie cooed.
"I'm a pretty good cook myself." Was a voice I wasn't expecting to hear so early.
"Right. And his favorite dish is revenge." I snorted.
"You don't know me like you think you do doll-face." He said while snatching my bacon out of my hand.
"Hey! That was my bacon!" I yelled dramatically.
"It's not like there isn't a whole plate in front of you buttercup." He argued.
"So what! You don't just go snatching food from someone hand, that's disrespectful!" I exclaimed.
"No, what's disrespectful is your attitude. Didn't your parents teach you how to share?"
"Didn't your parents teach you manners?" I asked and he gave me a stern look.
"Touché." Andrew said. "Now let's stop this bickering and eat up, we will need it for our plans today." He said and smiled at Katie who returned the gesture.
"What plans are those exactly?" Billy asked as he exited his tent yawning and stretching. Soon followed Josh who was eyeballing the food like he hadn't ate in a decade.
"You will see." Andrew smirked.
We finished up our breakfast and ended some small talk. Andrew ordered us to change into our bathing suits under our clothes, also had us grab our flash lights and suggested we wear tennis shoes.
"Okay, so here's the plan. We're going to divide up into three teams and do a scavenger hunt." Andrew said.
"Dude do we really have to?" Josh whined.
"Yes, unless you want to miss out on 200 bucks."
"200 bucks?" Billy asked.
"Katie, myself, and with the help of Kaleb came up with some money for the winners." Andrew explained.
"Why would you be interested in a stupid scavenger hunt?" I asked Kaleb.
"Does it matter Bennet?" Kaleb asked after taking a drink of his flask.
I rolled my eyes at his remark. "So who is on teams then?" I asked curiously.
"Andrew and I, Josh and Billy, and you and Kaleb." Katie said.
"Are you freaking kidding me? I already had to listen to his screeching voice in the car, now I have to spend the whole day with this jerk?" I asked hysterically. I couldn't believe my best friend would keep throwing me under the bus like this.
"Look we will still be scavenger hunting when it's dark, you have to be with a guy for safety." Katie explained.
"Fine. We better win this Presley I need a new pair of Sperry's."
