Chapter Nineteen
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
DING dONG *
"You don't have to answer right now, I'll go grab the pizza." Kaleb muttered and my heart was accelerating at an in healthy speed. I never expected those words to come out of his mouth but of course all I wanted was to be his girlfriend.
Kaleb sat the pizza boxes down and my nose was attacked by the tasty smell of the pizza before my eyes.
I quickly got a paper plate and placed there peices on my plate while Kaleb grinned. We sat in a comfortable silence for about thirty minutes while we ate our pizza but the tension was killing me, I wanted to give him my answer.
"Yes!" I exclaimed smiling like a idiot, startling Kaleb. "I'm sorry, but yes I will be your girlfriend." I smiled.
"I can't promise you I'll be the best boyfriend, but I do promise I won't hurt you intentionally." He said and kissed my forhead and the butterflies did happy dances inside my stomach, and so did our son.
"Daniel is kicking, here feel." I said and placed his hand on my stomach. Kalebs face went pale and he list breathed out a laugh and said, "Wow, this is so amazing. You have a baby kicking you on the inside. This shit is weird." He laughed and I smacked him but soon giggled when he kept saying wow every kick Daniel would make.
"I love you Kaleb." I said as his eyes locked with mine, and he smiled.
"I love you Maci Bennett." He whispered and we snuggled on the couch and talked the rest of the night.
I found myself smiling like an idiot remembering that moment six weeks ago. Kaleb found a job at a car lot, he's actually pretty cute In his suit and tie. Mr.Corino has been harassing him, but Kaleb assured me that Mr.Corino didn't know where he lived, so it's not like he could stop by out of nowhere.
Mine and Kalebs relationship was doing good. Of course, it was a big adjustment for him. He had to learn all the basics when being in a relationship. I shook my head at that though. My bad boy. I thought and smiled.
We managed to put together Daniels room at Kalebs house for when he stays over there. We also decided that we would spend every other weekend as a family and go to parks, and other places when Daniel was a bit older.
It was two am, and I had woken up because Daniel was moving around alot. And because I was hungry of course, but my stomach was feeling really weird. It felt like there was a ton of pressure on the bottom of my stomach. I got up too use the rest room and I felt a cold liquid go down my leg, and I realized my water had broken.
I shuffled as fast as I could to my mothers room and I shook her and told her my water broke. It took her five minutes to wake up completely but soon after, she was in complete panic mode and she was scaring the shit out of me.
"Mom you need to calm down your freaking me out." She went wide eyed like she was some crazy person, but soon she stopped going nutts and started helping me into the car and I soon started dialing Kalebs number.
"Come on asswhole."I muttered and then heard a gruffly voice on the other line.
"Kaleb! I think it's time! You need to meet me at the hospital, now." I demanded and he sighed, but acted calm.
"I'll be there in 20 baby." He said in his deep sleepy voice, but he was still an asswhole.
"Macis having contractions, we are in room 206 when will you be here?" My mom asked my midwife and she told her she would be there in atleast thirty minutes and I sighed.
With Kaleb by my side I was able to get a little bit of sleep. The nurse told me I was 3 cm dialated, which wasn't much and I was having Braxton Hicks contractions. The cool liquid that ran down my leg wasn't technically my water breaking, instead it was some sort of discharge. Gross, I know.
They wanted to keep me in the hospital, and I slept till about eight am with Kaleb by my side. I really loved him for staying by my side through all of this, I mean it was his job to, but he really made me a happy girl. And I was happy that I would be meeting my son soon, but I was really scared of the pain.
I have always been a strong girl, but child birth scares the heck out of me. My bestfriend Katie came to the hospital, bringing balloons. I explained to her that she should've brought those after Daniel was born, but she just shrugged and rambled on about a guy she has gotten close with.
My brother stopped by, and said to call him as soon as I start pushing. I said hell no, because I wouldn't be focused on dialing any ones number when I'm pushing out another human being.
The hospital food was Awful. So I was thankful that Kaleb went out to buy me food. It was day two in the hospital, and again I felt some cool liquid down my leg and pressed the 'call' button for the nurse and she confirmed my water had broke, and I was officially in the process of having our son.
Kaleb gave my hand a tight squeeze while the nurse monitored my contractions and my blood pressure. It was slightly high because I was so scared. My heart was pounding, I was dizzy, and nauseous. I had never been this scared before in my life. Kaleb rubbed my forhead and it calmed me down till I was breathing properly. My midwife stepped into the room with her green face mask, and green scrubs and soothed me till she said the words, "Are you ready?" And I lost it.
