Chapter Nine

I sniffled at the ending of The Notebook like one of those teenie bobbers that believe that love is all rainbows and unicorns. Trust me it isn't. Love hasn't been kind to me at all, and I think fate is sort of punishing me somehow.

I thought maybe Kaleb would be the one to sweep me off my feet since he is my babys father but he has yet to make a move.

Every time I breathe in his scent, it's intoxicating. Not to retort to Edward Cullen but he is like a drug to me. His scent is what got me into this mess. That and those eyes, they draw me in, even when he doesn't act like he wants me, I still feel drawn to him.

It was nearly one o' clock in the morning and I was still awake watching movies and eating Ben and Jerry. Tomorrow my best friend was coming over to accompany me since it will Friday.

I was wide awake, usually I am asleep but I was worried about Kaleb since he hasn't texted or called me since he left. My mother and Twin were sleeping peacefully of course and I didn't want to wake them so I went to the basement.

It wasn't one of those dark and mysterious basements. We actually had carpet down there, a flat screen TV, DVDs, game systems, pool table and to my liking a Minnie fridge and a bathroom which has came in handy since I have been pregnant I have been using the bathroom non stop.

I put in Safe Haven and started cooking some popcorn and I heard the basement door open.

"TY?" I asked to the shadow standing there.

I got no answer but soon I didn't need it as Kalebs gorgeous face came into view.

"Kaleb? What are you doing here so late?" I asked concerned because he wasn't smiling or anything.

I started walking closer to him and the scent of alchahol attacked my nose.

"Kaleb, you wreak! Have you been drinking?" I asked him.

"Yeah. Maci I, I can't think of a reason why I am here, I came from the club and I just ended up here. I went to your room, you wasn't there so I knew you would be down here. Can I stay please?" He asked and I nodded. I couldn't turn him away when he was giving me those puppy dog eyes.

I made Kaleb some coffee and he quickly sobered up and seemed like he was into the movie since he was asking so many questions.

"So, the blonde head chick dyed her hair? Because it's showing her with brown hair in some parts." He said popping some popcorn into his mouth.

"Yes, she's running from her husband who is a cop. He beat her and she stabbed him and she went to a small town to get away and she fell in love in this process." I explained.

"So, she's married and still kissing someone else?" He asked with a raised eye brow.

"Yes, but her husband beat her, she had to get away."

"But she's still married?" He asked again. I'm going to end up choking this boy.

"YES! STOP ASKING SO MANY QUESTIONS!" I yelled in frustration.

"Okay, calm down hormones. I'm just saying, if we was ever married and I seen you kissing another guy, I'd probably go crazy too." He said and turned back to the movie.

For some reason that made my stomach erupt with butterflies.

Since we had a huge sectional couch that reclined on both ends I offered Kaleb to stay the night because it was almost four in the morning by the time the movie went off and he stopped arguing with me over the movie. After a long silence we bth agreed wwe would sleep downstairs so I decided to head upstairs to get us some blankets.
