Chapter Two

Maci's POV:

                                   The school week went by pretty quickly. It seemed as if I had just turned around and it was already Friday. This morning before first period I Came across a can of spaghetti sauce sitting inside my locker. Knowing Kaleb had some how managed to know my combination since freshman year made me believe he was the culprit.

                                Although I hate admitting it but it made me grin at the thought of the food fight but having seen my parents reaction when they walked in with me covered in sauce and the house a complete wreck I pretty much got grounded for a week.

Although, being the daddy's girl I am I am use to getting around that. School was almost over and as I walked out of my last class to get my things from my locker a familiar brunette that I know and love skipped up to me with a huge smile on her face.

"MACI!" Screamed my best friend Katie looking like she was out of breath. For what reason I shall not need to know.

"Geez Katie, blow my ear drums why don't you!" I said not looking at her.

"Oh hush, are you on your flow or something?" She said sarcastically. 

"Actually, dumb question because if I was, you would be on yours since we have the same cycle smart one." I said.

"Touché." She said. "But seriously I need to talk to you!"

"Well then spill." I said closing my locker and turning towards my really excited best friend.

"So, Andrew and some people are going camping tonight for the weekend and he invited me and you have to come!" She smiled.

"Who is some people and why do I have to come?" I asked wearily.

"Well Andrew of course," she gushed, "And A few friends, Billy, Josh, and Kaleb." She slowed at Kaleb's name knowing what she was going to hear next.

"Oh he'll no, Katie." I shook my head. "Camping in the woods alone with him, he's probably going to feed me to a bear." I whined.

"No he will not Maci. Please I need you there and I always bail you out on everything; so just do this for me please! I don't want to be the only girl there." She begged.

                   If this had been any one else's attempt to get me to be around my arch nemesis for an entire weekend, I would have said No, but this was my Best friend, and an amazing one at that. I couldn't say no to her, because she has helped me through a lot of difficult times, and I have dragged her along to every embarrassing family reunion possible. 

"Fine but you have to convince my parents." I gave in. I always give in.

"You know I can! Thank you Maci, I owe you. I really Like Andrew Maci, I really do." She genuinely looked as if she was telling the truth and I couldn't deny how happy she looked.

"Okay, okay, I'm happy for you Katie. Let's get to my house and pack. When and who is picking us up?"

"Kaleb since he has a black SUV to fit the stuff."

"Okay." I didn't want to say it and burst her love bubble but I'm sure Kaleb drives like a mad man on a mission and the thought made me quit weary to step into his car.

Walking into my house I rounded the corner and saw my mom and dad sitting at the kitchen table.

"Mom, Dad, Katie has something to ask you." I said and gave Katie the floor.
