4. Full Moon

I screamed as loud as I could when I woke up from that... dream? What was that? Was it a dream or was it something else? The door smashed open and a worried Jaxon came running in. He saw me sitting in the bed, trying to breathe calmly. He ran towards me and embraced me with a hug. "What happened?" He asked calmly but you could still hear that he was worried.

"I... I d-don't know" I mumbled, still trying to breathe calmly. Jaxon was rubbing my back and I could soon relax in his arms.

"Really Luna, what happened?" He asked calmly yet somehow slightly angry.

"I... h-had a d-dream" I stuttered.

"What kind of dream?" He asked as he tried to pull away but I threw my arms around him and held onto him tight.

"I'm not sure" I said vaguely and Jaxon growled as he pulled away.

"Luna!" He said angrily. "Tell me, this is the second time you wake up screaming."

"But the thing is, I really don't know how to explain it" I said as I looked into his green eyes which made me feel relaxed and safe.

"Just... try" He said with a pleading look. I sighed then laid down, pulling Jaxon with me. He laid down under the blankets while holding onto me tight. "Explain"

"I've had this... dream. Except it doesn't feel like a dream, it feels real. In this dream, I see my grandmother" I said and looked up at him. My head is lying on his chest and my arms is wrapped around his waist. "Earlier today, when I spaced out. Remember that?" I asked and he nodded. "It happened then too. Everything becomes white and then there's a field with roses and my grandmother's there. She talks to me. She said that I should give you a chance, that she protected me from this... werewolf world. That I need to be careful." I explained.

"You miss her don't you?" He said calmly and I nodded.

"But the thing is, it feels so real" I mumbled.

"Luna, you were dreaming, it's your subconscious."

"Yeah I guess..." I said gloomy. "This dream however was different."

"How so?" He asked curious.

"I didn't see my grandmother." I started then explained the entire dream. About the woman, the man and their baby. About the mystery man with red hair and how he killed them in cold blood.

"And you don't know them?" He asked referring to the people in the dream.

"No" I said shaking my head. "Jaxon..." I said after a few minutes of silence.

"Mhm..." He answered.

"Are you going to bed now?" I asked hesitantly. I don't want to fall asleep alone.

"What did you have in mind?" He said with his husky voice and I don't have to look at him to know that he's smirking. I sighed and rolled my eyes.

"Dumbass..." I muttered quietly.

"Werewolves have heightened senses" he said chuckling and I blushed bright red. No wonder he always hear me. "Go to sleep, I'll be here when you wake up" He said and kissed the top of my head. I cuddled against him and then fell asleep again.


When I woke up, the warm feeling you get when someone is holding you, wasn't there. I looked around and Jaxon wasn't next to me. Liar... I thought for myself but then I heard the water running in the bathroom. I smiled unconsciously.

The door to the bathroom opened and Jaxon walked out with a towel around his waist. I licked my lips while staring at him. "Damn he's fine" I accidentally said out loud as I stared at his abs until his chuckling snapped me out of my staring and I looked into his eyes instead. "Crap..." I mumbled as I realized that he heard me. I bit my lips as I stared at him anyway, his beautiful green eyes. It's crazy that I feel this strongly towards him when I've just met him but I guess it's because we're mates? I mean sure, he can be obnoxious, annoying, hot tempered but he's also sweet, caring towards me and I feel safe around him. I noticed that Jaxon was still staring at me so I looked down at my clothes and noticed that his t-shirt was slightly higher up than it should be. I looked back towards him and saw his eyes becoming black. I gulped.

"I can smell you" He said with his husky voice.

"Do I smell bad?" I asked confused.

"I can smell that you're aroused" He stated simply and I suddenly blushed.

"You can smell that?!" I shrieked in shocked. That's just wrong! And embarrassing! I blushed even more as he walked towards me. He crawled towards me on the bed and hovered above me. "Um... what are you doing?" I asked as I bit my lip nervously. Without answering he smashed his lips against mine and I responded immediately.

Our lips moved in-sync, it was a passionate and hungry kiss. When he deepened the kiss, I accidentally moaned and an animalistic growl escaped his lips. I put my hands around his neck, pulling him closer as his hands was resting on my thigh. He moved his lips from mine and traveled down to my nape. He sucked and nibbled, which I'm not really used to but it felt really good and I moaned again. But then I remembered what Avalon had said about marking and I freaked out. I quickly pushed him away from me and because it was a sudden action, I actually had the chance to succeed.

He looked at me with a hurt expression, his eyes still black as he eyed my nape again. "Don't" I said sternly yet slightly scared. He looked into my blue eyes but then back towards my nape and started to lean forward. "Don't!" I said again with a powerful voice. Jaxon looked at me, blinked a few times then his eyes was back to normal.

"I'm sorry" He whispered. "It's my wolf side, it wants to claim you" He stated bluntly.

"I'm not ready" I whispered.

"We need to do it soon" He said sternly which made me mad.

"I told you, I'm not ready!" I yelled as I sat up.

"Don't be so troublesome Luna" He said annoyed as he sat up too. "It really doesn't matter if you're ready or not, we still have to do it. The sooner the better"

"I'm not troublesome" I said annoyed.

"Yes you are!" He growled.

"You're an asshole!" I said angrily as I stood up then walked out of the room. I could hear him shouting my name but I ignored him and walked down the stairs and towards the kitchen while chanting "Stupid Alpha, dumbass, idiot, psycho" over and over again until I reached the kitchen.

"Um... Are you okay?" Avalon asked confused when I reached the kitchen, however I still chanted the same words over and over again which made her and others chuckle. I turned around and saw not only Avalon and Colton but two other guys too. Suddenly I felt exposed in my t-shirt and tugged it down.

"Um... Hello" I said shyly towards the other two.

"This is Zane and Nate. Zane is third in command and Nate is a high ranked warrior." Avalon introduced them.

"Oh, hi I'm Luna" I introduced myself before continuing. "And yes, my real name is Luna, and yes it's amusing" I mumbled then turned around to get something to eat as they chuckled. I took some pancakes that was lying on the counter and then turned around to sit at the kitchen island with the others.

"So... what did Jaxon do?" Avalon asked worried yet slightly amused.

"I didn't do anything" Jaxon said as he entered the kitchen and looked at me but I rolled my eyes which obviously made him growl like usual.

"Stupid Alpha, dumbass, idiot, psycho" I mumbled again.

"Luna!" Jaxon growled. I stood up from my seat and stared at him. "Don't disrespect me" He said angrily.

"Then start to respect me!" I snapped. "You can't just tell me that you're going to mark me without my will!" I yelled and I heard Avalon gasp.

"Jaxon you did that?!" She asked surprised.

"Yes! He responded annoyed. "I would prefer for her to be safe and disrespect her because of one thing" He snapped. I could hear Avalon shouting at Jaxon, but all I could really focus on was his words. That he rather would want me to be safe. I'm not even sure what that means but he's been a werewolf his entire life, while I just stumbled into this. He's also an Alpha, which means that he probably know so much more and he must be quite vise. Except that fact that he don't know how to handle women but whatever.

I interrupted Avalon's shouting towards her brother "What do you mean keeping me safe?" I asked calmly and he turned to look at me confused, probably because of my sudden calmness.

"If I don't mark you, someone else might do it" He said serious but you could still hear the anger and concern in his voice.

"Oh..." I mumbled. That's actually kind of sweet somehow. He wants me to be his. I smiled and walked towards him, which made his eyes widen and looked at me confused. I put my arms around him, my head against his chest and hugged him. "I'm sorry" I whispered, knowing that he would still hear me. He relaxed in my embrace and put his hands around me. "However, you really do have some things to work on, like explaining things better and your temper."

He put his head at my nape, inhaling my sent to calm himself down. Avalon explained that the mates sent, calm the wolf down. "I'm sorry" He whispered into my ear then kissed my nape quickly which made me giggle.

"You two are weird..." Avalon said and we pulled away from each other. "I would still be mad." She said as I sat down on my seat again and Jaxon next to me.

"I think it was cute, they are perfect for each other" Nate said in awe.

"Of course they are, they are mates" Zane said after rolling his eyes then punched Nate's arm. I giggled while stealing a glance at Jaxon, then started to eat my breakfast again.

"There's a full moon tonight. Which means we are going to run in the forest in our wolf form" Jaxon said in a matter in fact tone.

"Full moon?" I mumbled and remembered what my grandmother had said before. Don't be alone on the next full moon. "What do I do?" I asked confused yet slightly worried because of my grandmothers words.

"You can stay in the house" He answered and I couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed. However, I won't push it. It's probably nothing. Like Jaxon said, it was only a dream because I missed her so much.

After breakfast Jason and the other guys went to work, I'm still not entirely sure on what that is, while Avalon and I went back to my apartment. We packed my things and brought them back here. I also ended the contract for my apartment and quit my job. Apparently I'm going to start working here. Somehow. Doing something.

During the day, I slowly started to feel sick somehow.  It's like my body is slowly starting to boil. When Avalon and I got back from the town, we crashed down in the couch and watched a movie. The sun is starting to set while the moon is slowly rising. The same goes with my food apparently, except it's not rising slowly.

I quickly stood up and ran towards the nearest bathroom, threw my head into the toilet and puked. Avalon came running into the bathroom, picking up my hair and away from my face while I puked even more. "I've mind linked Jaxon" She said worried as she rubbed my back.

"You've what?" I asked confused as I wiped away the puke around my mount then washed my face.

"We can talk to others in the pack through our minds" Avalon explained.

"Oh..."I said plainly.

"Are you?..." She asked and looked at me worried.

"Am I what?" I asked confused.

"Pregnant?" She asked and just because Jaxon has a terrible timing, that's when he enter the bathroom.

"You're what?!" He growled, knowing that if I was, it wouldn't be his considering we haven't slept together yet.

"I'm not fucking pregnant!" I yelled angry at the two of them. "I'm a virgin dumbasses!"

"Oh... Then why are you puking?" Avalon mumbled.

"How should I know" I said and walked pass them but Jaxon stopped me and put his hand on my forehead.

"You're hot" He said worried.

"Well thank you" I said seductively and winked at him which made him roll his eyes. He put one hand on my back then the other under my legs and picked me up, carrying me towards his... or maybe ours bedroom.

He laid me down on the bed and sat down beside me. "What's wrong?" He asked worried.

"I don't know, it feels like my whole body is boiling and I feel sick" I said scrunching my nose while thinking about that I just puked. Disgusting.

"Go to sleep, I'll stay with you" He said and started to take off his shirt but I stopped him.

"Don't. It's okay that you go" I said giving him a weak smile. He sighed then sat down beside me and put his hand on my stomach. "Seriously, it's okay"

"I don't want to leave you alone" He worried.

"I'll just sleep and when you get back you can crawl down here with me" I said smiling.

"That I'll definitely do" He said smirking then gave me a kiss on my forehead. He walked out of the room so I stood up and got changed into one of his shirts then laid down on the bed again, trying to fall asleep. Which I did after a long time of twisting and turning.


When I woke up, my whole body was burning. It felt like someone had lit a fire inside of me. Or maybe that I'd eaten a fireball that was crawling under my skin. I threw away the blanket but it was still too hot and it only got hotter so I threw away his shirt that I was wearing. The only thing I had left was my underwear, yet it felt like I was on fire.

I started to sob because of the burning pain inside of me. What the hell is wrong with me? I started to scream when my elbow suddenly popped. The bones in my body started to rearrange their positions and I screamed louder. What the hell's wrong with me?! "JAXOOON!" I yelled as loud as I could.

I crawled down from my bed, trying to get towards the door while the bones in my body keep twist and turn. I screamed even more by the burning sensation in my whole body and the bones that breaks in different directions. I sobbed and screamed when the door suddenly opened and Jaxon came running in. "Help me" I sobbed and then I screamed again.

"Holy shit" He said in utter shock.

"Jaxon, what's wrong with me?" I said between sobs.

"Luna, you're shifting!"
