Furnin and Suna leave the apothecary and head towards the inn no doubt Dorfam is there boasting about the recent bout with the gang of delinquents.
As Furnin walks with Suna he starts to realize that maybe Gourd was right. Maybe Furnin does have feelings for Suna but does Suna have feelings for Furnin.
Furnin focuses on preparing for the journey ahead of them and a few concerns he has. Suna notices that Furnin was looking at her thoughtfully as they walked and makes a mental note of it.
They walk into the inn and Dorfam is at the bar counter sloshing ale around boasting boisterously and yells out, "hey!!! There he is, that's the ravenous fighting Wolf that took Durna down. "
Furnin puts his hand on his forehead in disgrace of the mercenary he hired who's drunk off his ass.
Furnin approached Dorfam and Suna stayed at the entrance deciding to wait for Furnin there. Not wanting to join the all too familiar tavern scene.
Furnin got to Dorfam and Dorfam chuckles and brings a familiar girl into view and says, "look here, Fuea has a few words to say to you. " Dorfam walks away and grabs another ale, then begins talking to another patron.
Fuea awkwardly shifts and after a moment she says trembling, "hey umm so I know you hired Dorfam... But because he recommended me... Turns out there's a rule... My first mission has to be a tag along mission... "
She shifts her eyes back and forth and Furnin notices that she's rubbing her arm and is unsure of herself in his presence.
Furnin smiles and reaches out a hand. Fuea flinches at first then after realizing Furnin means to shake her hand she takes it and shakes it.
Furnin says, "I understand, so you'll be joining us then? Will I need to prepare supplies for you for the journey? "
Fuea looks puzzled and stutters out, " the gui...guild provided ample supplies for the journey for me... A umm... A investment I'll have to repay."
Furnin says as he glances at Dorfam who is now flirting with a tavern waitress across the room, "well I still had prepared in advance for an extra member, so we have supplies. "
Fuea says, "how can you be so... So calm I mean just the other day I was trying to kill you. "
Furnin turns his attention to the near trembling girl in front of him and says, "you're not aiming a bow at me at the moment, I've nothing to fear from you. "
Fuea says, "Dorfam told me that you defeated... Zark... And the whole gang with him... I... Want... To tell you thank you... They would have come after me eventually... "
Furnin says, " no need, you saved yourself in my opinion by walking away when you did. Happy to have you along. To be honest though, I'm not sure what we might face at the mansion but I am sure the 4 of us can... "
Furnin trails off seeing Dorfam has spilled a mug of ale on a burly guy who's now rearing for a fight.
The burly guy is fixing to get up and Furnin brings a Rag that was sitting on the bar counter and hands the rag to the burly man and says, "truly sorry my for friend here. " he grabs the drunken Dorfam and continues, "as you can see he has had too much drink. "
The burly man says, "thanks for the rag, perhaps its best you take your friend out before I end his merry mood. "
Furnin smiles as he pushes Dorfam towards the exit and says, "yes I believe that's a good idea. "
Dorfam says after being pushed out of the tavern, "what? what did I do? "
"you've had a bit too much to drink. " Furnin says as he takes away his mug and takes it back inside.
Furnin walks out of the tavern with Fuea in tow. Dorfam is sitting down on a bench outside of the tavern rambling on about something.
Furnin turns to Fuea and says, "do you know where he stays at? "
Fuea nods and says, "I'll show him home for the day... He'll probably pass out soon. "
Furnin says, "thank you, we will leave out tommorow morning so be prepared. "
Fuea says, " will do, we will be ready. "
Furnin walks down the stone road in the opposite direction of Fuea and Dorfam, who is being held up by Fuea, and Suna walks beside Furnin.
Suna says to Furnin who looks like he's in deep thought, "so what's on the agenda for the rest of the day? "
Furnin says, "there's something that's still bothering me. "
Suna says, "like what? "
Furnin says, "a guy mentioned to me the other day something about a realm of the ethereal. But I couldn't find anything solid in the scribe archives. Except something about the ancient elves worshipping something from a other worldly, or other realmly existing on a different plane than what humans believe as heaven and hell. "
Suna says, "the Elves? But most of the elves have left this world right? Through their passing rituals. What does ancient elves have to do with whatever this ethereal realm is? "
Furnin responds thoughtfully, " not sure, but I intend to find out. There's a book store in the main market district I intend to peruse for a certain book on ancient elves. "
Suna says, " I see, should I help or no? "
Furnin says, " I'm not even sure of what Im looking for exactly. But I want you to do something else for me. "
Suna looks excited and says, "yeah, what do you need me to do? "
Furnin looks at her and says, "well... I want you to take this, " he pulls out a pouch of coin, "and buy a few superstitious old ancient protection runestones from that elven stall towards the west end of the market square. "
Suna gives Furnin a unsure glance and says, "you sure? Elven runes? Since when did you become superstitious from elven traditions long dead? "
Furnin says, "since two seasoned scribe teams vanished from a certain mansion. "
Suna looks at Furnin with concern but accepts that Furnin has always kept every possibility and takes precautions for them. She takes the pouch of coin and heads out ahead of Furnin.
