We were inside his car.

The rain patted softly against the car windows and the sun began to descend as the moon shone brighter.

His voice broke the silence between us.

"I have a spare bedroom which you can use, it has a bathroom so it's nice. I, uh, stay alone so it won't be too congested and we'll have enough space between us, I mean for ourselves," he said.

I smiled widely, he was so sweet. "Okay Sir, I'm willing to do the household chores, and the cooking."

He laughed lightly. "No no Tina, you don't have to do that it's okay."

"Sir atleast let me help you because you've helped me so much. Oh and I'll pay you when-"

"Pay me? For what?" He asked.

"Well, you know, for letting me stay at your house." I said, I have to pay him back at some stage. I don't want to cause any irrelevant expenses.

"Nonsense! Tina you don't have to pay me back for anything. Okay how about this, you can cook most of the meals?" He bargained.

"And clean." I added.

"Fine, fine." He chuckled.

The ride was very short, only ten minutes away from the university.

We stopped in front of a one-storey house. We got out of the car and took my bag along with me.

When we reached the front door he stopped and took out his house keys, during this time I looked around the neighbourhood. It was very quiet, not a soul was in sight.

"Come in." He let me go in first. The house was dark but then he put on the light.

It was beautiful. Modern in style and appropriate in size.

There was a kitchen, lounge and dining room and two doors next to each other which I presumed was the bedrooms.

"Here, let me take your bag." He offered and lead me to one of the rooms.

It was appropriate for my size, the bed was only slightly bigger than my other one in the hostel room, there was a small desk with a study chair and I had a window covered with sleek black curtains.

"Is it fine?" He asked.

"Fine is an understatement. It's amazing." I praised and he nodded in return.

I noticed a photo frame containing a picture of a baby girl, her short hair in pigtails and an adorable smile adorned onto her face, and she had the cutest cheeks ever.

Suddenly Mr. Ranawat slapped down the frame and placed it into the top highest cupboard.

"Who was that?" I asked.

"My uh, sister's daughter. My niece." He said, he seemed sad for a second but then recovered quickly. I didn't want to question him further. "Let me show you around, then you can freshen up." He said and walked out of the room, with me following behind him.

It wasn't a lot to show around, a lounge containing two couches, a coffee table and a T.V. A modern kitchen which has a granite counter placed adjacent to the walls, a fridge and an island in the middle, containing three barstools. The dining room looked elegant with a wooden table and chairs, a red carpet lay underneath and the floor was wooden throughout the whole house.

The only place he hadn't shown me was his bedroom, but that was understandable because it was his bedroom, his sanctuary... I wouldn't want to invade that.

I went to my room and set my cupboards. It didn't take long because I didn't have many clothes. I had a quick shower and washed my hair, it was a mess for the past few days.
