I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists. Why is she standimg there with him? Why did she hug him? I mean, surely she could have given him a high five but NO! She obviously, had to hug him.
Ugh! I hate her, I loathe her. How dare she!
I crossed my arms over my chest then walked quickly to the changeroom but was stopped when Tanya grabbed my arm.
"What?" I snapped.
"Woah! What crawled up your ass?" She frowned.
"Nothing." I seethed.
"Tina?"
"Miss Arora is so...Ugh!" I can't stand her she's so annoying and I just wanna...Ugh!" My anger fumed.
"What did she do?" Tina asked concerned.
"Look at her!" I pointed, "She's glued to Abhay! She won't leave the poor guy alone. Just look how she's hugging him!" I squinted my eyes.
"Tina," Tanya's mouth was wide open, "that's Mr. Ranawat."
"I know that, I'm not blind." I huffed. What was she getting at?
"You just called him Abhay."
"No I didn't I-" I froze.
Oh my god. I called him Abhay, not Mr. Ranawat like all the other students. I tried to think of a quick story and tell Tanya but the look on her face shut me up.
"Tina, what's going on?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"And that's it." I wiped away a tear as Tanya just sat in front of me, staring into space after I told her everything from the beginning.
From my dad withdrawing my hostel fees, to Romi's wedding. I told her about the way Abhay treated me. How at first I barely saw him, then we became better friends, then the time I rejected his offer to be his date to Romi's wedding, the fights, but I didn't give away too many details because those memories were for me only.
"Tina." She looked up at me. I awaited her to shout at me and tell me that I was a terrible friend for hiding such a huge matter from her but she she smiled and wrapped her arms around me. My eyes widened. "This all makes sense!"
"What?" I questioned.
"I always noticed something was up with you before but I couldn't find a reason why. Now I have it!" She paced up and down the room.
"Tanya, what are you going on about?"
"You have a crush on Mr. Ranawat!" She squealed.
"What? No I do not!" My mouth hung open.
"Oh please, for the past few weeks you seemed quite sad, and that was when you two weren't on good terms. Then you guys got closer and your entire demeanour changed. Also, you called him Abhay, which shows how close you guys are and last but not least...you were jealous." She smirked.
"Jealous? Of what?" I questioned.
"Miss Arora."
"Of course not! She's so inappropriate and annoying and-"
"You don't like her because she has eyes for your man." She gave me a smug smile.
"He's not my man. He's my teacher." I protested. I wasn't jealous of her...was I?
"Yeah yeah. But the evidence is right in front of you. You like him...a lot." She raised her eyebrows.
I ignored her comment checked the time and saw that it was getting late. "I have to go. I'll see you on Monday, yeah?"
"Okay, but remember Teens, the more you suppress your feelings, the stronger they will get."
"I don't have any feelings for him." I stated confidently and walked out of the room.
Of course I don't have a crush on him. Was she insane? I mentally laughed.
When I reached home I saw that Abhay's car was parked outside but when I went inside he wasn't there. I shrugged and decided to make a cup of tea. I removed my shoes and tied my hair into a high ponytail.
I got a mug from the cupboard and started boiling the water. Suddenly Abhay's door swung open and in walked the man himself, dressed in only his boxers, exposing his mighty abs. He was looking down while drying his wet hair and he hadn't noticed me until he looked up.
My heart stopped. The way his eyes swept over my body then looked at my feet and I followed his eyes and saw that I dropped the mug. I hadn't even noticed it's shattering sound.
"Shit." I muttered then bent down and picked it up.
"Here let me help." He threw the towel onto the couch and walked towards me.
"No it's okay I got it." I assured and started picking up the pieces.
"You're going to cut yourself if you pick it up with your hand."
"It's alright I'll manage."
"Tina, you're not wearing shoes. Let me do it." He pushed on.
"No it's-OW!" I grabbed my now bleeding finger.
"Tina!" Abhay was next to me within a second and he lifted me up and took me to the sink. He opened the tap and held my hand under it. My heart started accelerating when he stood next to me. He smelt so manly and fresh, after taking a shower I suppose. I watched as his eyebrows frowned and he bit his lip in concentration whilst he placed a small plaster around my ring finger. "Didn't I tell you this would happen? See, you didn't listen to me and you got yourself hurt and-Why are you looking at me like that?" He asked.
"Like what?" I inquired.
"Nevermind." He shook his head then started sweeping up the mess I made.
I watched as his muscles flexed and I imagined what they would feel like.
Stop it! I mentally scolded myself.
But then he pushed his hair back roughly and I just wanted to lace my hands in them.
The thoughts and images increased rapidly inside my head and I had no control over them.
"All done." He said. "Anyway, listen to me next time or else you'll get hurt again."
"Abhay, I'm sorry."
"It's okay, don't worry about it." He smiled then was about to walk back into his room but my voice stopped him.
"Well done, by the way." I said shyly.
"For what?" He walked closer to me.
"You know, the match, you played really, really well." I praised and he smiled.
"Thank you, I used to love soccer when I was younger." He smiled to himself and I couldn't help but grin too.
Before he could walk back to his room he turned around and came face to face with me. "By the way," he whispered and once again my heart rate accelerated, "you cheered really, really well." He winked then walked back to his room.
Once he was out of sight I almost screamed from excitement. He winked at me! I ran to my room and had the biggest smile plastered onto my face. I loved it when he gave me so much attention! The excitement I felt was bursting through me and I couldn't find a reason why. But then it dawned on me.
I had a crush on Abhay.
